To review this product correctly there should be three points: The TAB / music. The CD quality. The learning software Slo/Mo pitch learning tool.
The tab seems to be ok but the chord suggestions are a bit wacky. Whoever did this was making it too complex. Buck wasn't some mastermind guitar player and you can grab a lot from just listening very closely. If you really need the tab this will do.
The CD quality is pretty decent. Some of these play along CDs are dreadful but I guess because REM isn't full of effects this sounds fine to the ear. So you'll be playing with the original recordings in no time.
The software that comes with it is horrible. The Hal Leonard software that comes with their sheet music is much nicer with more options. Unimpressed with TnT. But I do think of that as an "extra" and not the primary reason you would buy this. So I only knocked off one star. If you have good speed changing software like from another book then you can bypass the alfred one and get down to business.
