This is the book that will teach you how to fish.
I think most guitarist know that classicaly trained people have the best technique, and this book teaches the mental, physical and spiritual approach to playing that so many people don't have access to, or, consider too much effort to learn, when they'd rather just be playing.
A self taught acoustic guitar of many years, this book brought me to new levels of understanding in just a few hours reading and playing.
It has improved my nylon, acoustic and electric skills beyond belief.
When people ask me to teach them or for good advice on how to play, my first words are " Buy a book called `Pumping Nylon`and follow the instructions "
I don't think there are many players out there who could not benefit somewhere from the skills taught in this book.
Regarding the reviewer who speaks of the nails advice,( i can only presume he has tried all the various methods shown, and found them not to work for him.)just rub almond oil on your nails every night without fail, and they'll never break,
( advice Adrian Legg gave me ) and file your nails to the shape that suits your hand position best.

Aus der Sicht des Autoditakten: Aus diesem Buch kann man sich viel holen.
Es gibt sicher noch andere technische Ansätze, absolute Wahrheiten gibt es eh nicht.
Wer aber EINE Methode lernen will, die sicher funktioniert kann diesem Autor vertrauen. Meine Empfehlung wäre, sich die beiden Lern-Videos von William Kanengiser (hot licks, wenn ich mich nicht täusche) als Ergänzung zu besorgen. Da sind aber Englisch Kenntnisse vonnöten.
Beides sind Schüler von Pepe Romero.
Diese Schule hat auch in der heutigen Zeit, in der die technischen Fähigkeiten vieler junger Gitarristen enorm hoch sind, immer noch seine Gültigkeit.
