Trouble right off the bat. On page 12 (of my edition) the author displays a figure (figure 1.5). But the author confuses the reader by introducing values in the written text that do not match the values shown in the figure. What? Faith in the author's ability to communicate is lost by page 12. Time is too short, don't waste it on this book. I didn't go any further.

I am a home hobbyist always looking to learn more about electronics. I purchased the book and found it interesting but I was disappointed when I could not find a part to complete the list of components required to follow along with the book. I tried contacting the author for a suitable substitute but never received any response. I tried several online data sheet websites but was never able to find a match. I think the Make Electronics book is a more user friendly book for a beginner.

I bought this book along with several others to refresh by skills in basic electronics for a job test. Found it ok but the one I bought from HeathKit was far superior for relearninh the material.
