Ein australischer Flugzeug-Ingenieur mit Wohnsitz in der Schweiz schreibt ein englischsprachiges, in den USA verlegtes Buch über sein liebstes deutsches Auto - die Welt ist klein.
Heraus kam ein Wälzer im Format des Telefonbuchs einer deutschen Großstadt. Die Seiten sind zweispaltig aufgeteilt nach dem Vorbild der Porsche-Werkstattunterlagen: Links die (schwarz-weißen) Bilder, rechts der Text. In 12 Kapiteln wird vom Modellüberblick über Kaufberatung, Technik, Fehlersuche, Reparaturen in Eigenleistung bis zu Leistungssteigerung und Rennbetrieb jedes Thema angeschnitten, dass dem Besitzer oder Fan wichtig sein könnte.
Für den "Enthusiast" ein unverzichtbarer "Companion" - wie der Titel sagt. Ich durfte es mir zu Weihnachten wünschen und freue mich täglich beim Schmökern.

Für Leutchen die selber an ihrem PORSCHE schrauben, sicher ein große Hilfe. Für mich leider zu technisch und keine wirkliche Hilfe.

Adrian's book is a must have for any and all Porsche 911 1989-1994 (factory designation 964) owners, and especially for anyone considering the purchase of a '89-94 Porsche 911. It is worth many times it's cost. It contains nearly all the information that I wish I had readily available eight years ago when I first purchased my '90 964 targa. Not only would it have saved me immense amounts of time and research, but it would and does help me better understand the systems, repairs, modifications and maintence of this spectacular car. The style, content, presentation, pictures and opinions make this a unique publication for 911 owners from 89-94. Adrian's book reflects his passion for the 964 and in part the passion that was designed and built into the 964 and appreciated by those of us that drive them. My only complaint is that no one has written a similar labor of love for all of us who own a 951 (944 turbo). Perhaps if we pre-purchase copies he might begin the multi year effort?

As a new owner of a porsche C2,it was great to find someone who could answer many of my questions. Great information and great fun to read if you have an interest in this relatively rare car.
I'm glad Adrian took the time to collect this information. It is a great companion to the workshop manual.

If you have a 964 you must have this book

This book is too informative and useful to NOT be on every 964 owner's shelf. It covers maintenance & troubleshooting, model specifics, purchasing, pre-purchase guides, performance mods, and lots more.
The book is replete with pictures, diagrams, and illustrations that help any 964 owner understand the inner workings of a complicated but wonderful car. Adrian Streather has brought together a wealth of technical info on this car that is rivaled only by the wizards in Zuffenhausen.
I highly recommend it for enthusiasts, the shadetree mechanic 964 owner, as well as the ones who take their car to the service center for every maintenance task.
The book is replete with pictures, diagrams, and illustrations that help any 964 owner understand the inner workings of a complicated but wonderful car. Adrian Streather has brought together a wealth of technical info on this car that is rivaled only by the wizards in Zuffenhausen.
