Top book, go ahead, get it...

I already have several books about pinstriping, and I don't know why, I was not attracted to that book, when finally, I decided to ask Santa to get it for me..
Maaaaaaaaaaaan... it is in my opinion the best book so far, for people who are willing to actually pinstripe... other books will probably show more pictures, but way less explanations, here..?? how to, why, how, where, every thing is covered, in a "friendly" style... if you're into pinstriping, but still have some questions..?? this is an excellent book, I really have no regret at all... ok.. I have ONE regret.. as a beginner-pinstriper, I should have bought that book first... Thanks Al for sharing so much...

Good Resource for the beginner

I found this book for be worth the purchase price. It is a good resource for beginning stripers. It covers the basics well and gives solid advice for striping at shows and high value cars. Great pictures balanced with an abundance of knowledge.

Disapointing book.

I purchased this book a couple of weeks ago and found it extremely disappointing. As the title suggests, I was expecting a 'how-to' manual, covering techniques , materials etc. Not so.
There are 158 pages. 7 pages are devoted to paint choice and colour choice. ( only 2 pages of text however when images are removed - 2 pages show a colour wheel and other pictures make up the rest. )
One page discusses tools ( ie . brushes ) and a one page table lists the common brushes followed by 3 pages of pictures showing the authors kit.
4 pages cover preparation and 19 pages cover design. This section is mostly pictures rather than text. Much of it just showing finished designs rather than ny explanation of what is needed to achieve the finished product.
18 pages then cover brush technique, in my opinion the heart of the book and the most useful section of the book. This is followed by nine pages showing some explanation , and pictures, of pin-striping straight lines. A useful section but richer on photos than on explanation or technique.
The rest of the book pages 76 to 156 is really just a picture coverage of the authors work and business ideas. Being generous there are only about 40 useful pages in the book and that amount to just about 20 pages of text.
I wouldn't recommend it to others but I am not aware of any alternative good manuals on the subject to offer as an alternative
