Although there is a hint of a warning in the book's description, I think it's important to emphasize that this is not a beginner's book. The authors assume you know about how "layers" and other key aspects of Elements work. I was lost when it came to the editing portions of the book.

So if you are like me you do not use PS everyday. This book makes it easy to find the steps needed to tweak your photos. It gives you step by step instructions on how to make photo adjustments. I don't want to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to sharpen the picture or adjust eh white balance. I love the way the book just walks you through the steps.
The author has an odd sense of humor that comes out in his chapter intros but I don't hold it against him.

If you've read any of Scott Kelby's other books, you'll know why I bought this one. He offers excellent, concise, easy-to-understand instructions for using Photoshop Elements 9 to fix common specific problems with digital photos. Unless you're already an expert with Photoshop Elements, this is a very good book to have on your bookshelf to help you get your digital photos looking their best if you're planning to use Photoshop Elements for that purpose.
