Their wishes were simple and modest. Fate had other things in store though, and she can be a real bitch sometimes.

- All he wanted was to get the job done and somehow to endure those long months playing nanny to a spoiled little rich girl. Without strangling her with his bare hands in the process. Well, it is going to be much easier said than done.

- All she wanted was to escape the past and live like any other nineteen-year-old girl. Her plan definitely didn’t include the arrogant, tattooed savage, with his awful mohawk hair and lack of social graces, whose only mission was to stick real close and mess up her life.

But, people aren't always what they seem to be, are they?

5.0 von 5 Sternen Amazing!!! 23. Februar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I just love it. It is easy to read, never predictable, I didn't get annoyed with the heroine (wich I often do). And it left me wanting more!!! So please, Zoya Tessi, continue it!

4.0 von 5 Sternen Unterhaltsam mit sehr cleverem Twist am Ende ! 2. Februar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf

Februar 2014
Von Megan Greiner - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. Both characters were so enjoyable that I found myself craving more of them and returning to my iPhone to read it numerous times throughout the day. (With two little kiddos at home, it’s hard to find long stretches where I can indulge my need to read… but I made exceptions for this book!)

Sasha is the daughter of a man with some shady connections. When a deal gone wrong leaves her father and therefore Sasha as targets, Alex is hired as a personal bodyguard. Nobody realizes just how personal it will get. I loved how Alex helps Sasha work through some PTSD she’s dealing with. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Sasha and her roommate.

Zoya Tessi did a wonderful job adding humor and suspense into the love story that shouldn’t have worked but does oh so well!

5.0 von 5 Sternen NEW FAVORITE BOOK 29. Mai 2014

*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Wow. NEW. FAVORITE. BOOK. I went into this thinking, Oh god, yet another YA romance where the girl hates the guy, then falls in love with him, blah blah blah... But this exceeded my expectations beyond belief. There were so many twists and turns in this book; I'm pretty sure my heart stopped. Multiple times. I absolutely hate really predictable books, and this was anything but. I was hooked from start to finish (I finished it in two days), and I ended up skipping more than one meal in order to read.
THE CHARACTERS. Let's just talk about the characters for a second. Sasha, the main character, is hilarious. One of the things I love most about her character is that she's so mean, and she's not afraid to stand up for what she wants. I have never enjoyed reading from a character's POV as much as I enjoyed hers.
And then there's Alex. ALEX. This is one of the greatest cases of character development I have ever witnessed, and we all love character development. I can't even begin to express how much I love Alex. ZOYA PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WRITE SCENES FROM HIS POV I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER.
As for the overall plot, there was never a dull moment. It was such a new and interesting concept; I definitely needed a break from paranormal/sci-fi/fantasy. It was extremely refreshing, and amazingly well done. This book will leave you breathless, heartbroken, and thrilled, all at the same time. 5,000,000,000,000 stars.

3.0 von 5 Sternen a bit conflicted about what I feel for this book 15. Juni 2014
Von bookluver1999 - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I am a bit conflicted about what I feel for this book. Parts of the book flows so well and in other parts it seems like unanswered questions and holes in the story (like it's incomplete). So in this story stuff happens and she gets a bodyguard. Now due to her PAST I can't understand why she would act so stupid.. I mean really does she WANT the end up dead??? Even AFTER she gets kidnapped she STILL doesn't take it seriously I feel and whines about wanting to go out... would you like a side of shallow grave with that order? Yeah she is 19 BUT since she seems to know so much about her fathers business and all the stuff that's happened in her past.. her actions just seem STILL here two closest friends ditch her in the middle of the book (even though it didn't seem like they were ever into each other and oh! decide to move to ITALY!! SAY WHAT??? And at the end they never explain about how they explain all this to her father. Plus sadly there were NO sexy scenes :( So as good as parts of this book was it still left a lot unanswered and left me feeling like the book was incomplete. Still seeing as this is the first book she has had published on amazon I think with a bit more work we will be seeing good things in the future from Zoya Tessi.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Lack of Maturity 25. Juli 2014
Von Book Nerd - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
This book started out good to me but once the H is introduced to the h everything went down hill to me. Her immaturity was too much for me to deal with! While I understand that she was 19 and lack of maturity is common at tht age however THIS level was elementary. She kept yelling, stomping, and slamming the door to her room! *rolls eye* like she even drugged the H so she could sneak out. Like she had no real comprehension of how much her life was in danger and this book pained me to finish read. There was NOTHING about the h that would cause the H to fall in love with her and even though it's only $0.99 I say save your money it's not worth it.

5.0 von 5 Sternen So good! My new favorite! 24. Juli 2014
Von Alexa from BTL Book Blog - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
Things I liked:
• Sasha. She was a great main character. The story was told from her POV. We got to learn about all of the things she has been struggling with as a daughter of an arms dealer. She grew up with money and no need to learn the ways of normal middle class people. When her mother died she left her father behind her. As much as she was able. I loved that she had to ask her roommate how to do things in the beginning and wasn’t afraid to admit it. She didn’t come off as a spoiled rich girl either. Sometimes she had her moments but she had her roommate there to bring her back to earth. She was such a strong character too. She wasn’t going to let someone else run her life.

• Beth. Beth was Sasha’s roommate. She was a great supporting character. She helped Sasha through her problems without pestering her for details Sasha wasn’t ready to give. Beth was also ready to give Sasha a verbal beat down when she started to get prissy and dramatic. She was a great friend and hilarious.

• Alex. He was such an amazing leading man. He was a jerk at times and judgmental but from what he has been through with her dad it is understandable. He comes to be Sasha’s bodyguard even though he would rather be anywhere else. He wasn’t the best at showing his emotions but you could tell when he started to care about more than he ever wanted to. Alex was such a sweet heart to her when she was going through the thunderstorms. I loved what he did for her near the end. I’m not going to tell you what it was but I knew it was real and he wanted it to be.

• The story. The story was really interesting and engaging. It kept you into the story and always wondering what was actually going on. The story line was well written and the flow was great. It didn’t feel rushed and it didn’t feel like we were slugging along either.

• The end. I love an ending where I get so emotional I almost stop and I am like this…
the only thing keeping me going is hoping the HEA is coming!

Things that bothered me:
• The Romance. This is the only thing I really felt bothered me. I felt like their romance could have been written a little better. I mean I could tell that Sasha was there but Alex was a little harder to read. I wish that his character had been a little easier to read. It would have been a little more realistic to me that they ended up together. I mean even at the HEA he still didn’t utter those three words. It bothered me. He could have at least said it once.

• The plot twist. After reading the prologue I could already guess the big twist. Which isn’t a bad thing. I liked to be surprised but this isn’t something that makes me take away stars. Sometimes I am just amazing and can guess books and movies when other people can’t. HAHAHAHA But I think everyone can figure this out.

• Mike. I thought I liked him until the end. I CAN’T BELIEVE HE LIED TO HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
