By converting all Premier League transfer fees since 1992 to current-day prices - using our specially devised Transfer Price Index (TPI) system to give precise 'football inflation' figures - teams could be accurately assessed against one another, whether from 1993 or 2010. The authors have done a great job in showing how the English premier league has developed as a business since its creation in 1992. A real eye opener to anyone interested in how the business of football affects the football of football. A must read for all football aficionados.

If you like the EPL and follow the success, both sporting and financial of your favourite club this book is a thorough analysis of the Premier League winners and losers.

The text is heavy on analysis and uses plenty of figures so it can be a little dry on occasions, but the depth of research makes this a valuable contributor to the footballing historical prose.
