5.0 von 5 Sternen Wow! 11. August 2014

I uttered the word "Wow" after finishing this book by Joy Tremay. I don't often read romance novels, but this one was much more than that! The characters are very well outlined, and the stories going on in their lives are detailed nicely. Not too much or too little, just right! I especially love the parts where Diana (who is a teacher) is working with her students in class, you can really sense her love for the students. It is written so you care about all the characters, not just the two major ones. And speaking of the two major characters--the romance between Diana and Jake is great, very deep! This book is very well written and quite enjoyable. I recommend this book highly to anyone who not only wants to read some super hot romance but also to get involved in the interesting characters lives and thoughts.

4.0 von 5 Sternen GREAT READ! 12. August 2014

I've read a few romance novels in the past. This is certainly one of the better ones. The writing style is fresh and the characters are interesting and believable. The sexual interaction between the characters is carefully blended with their personalities and lifestyles. Will be looking forward to reading another novel by Joy Tremay.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Delightful and Heartwarming 28. August 2014
Von The Kindle Book Review - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
Due to a strict father and her own dedication to school, Diana Mulroney has had a nonexistent social life during high school. After graduation, Diana and her best friend Natalie decide to go to a beach/bonfire party. There Diana meets the devastatingly handsome, slightly older, Jake Redmond. An innocent walk on the beach quickly turns into a passionate encounter. That is, until her father shows up, makes a scene and drags her home.
Throughout college Diana often thinks of Jake and the most embarrassing night of her life.
Now 27, Diana is a preschool teacher and lives in Las Vegas. Fate decides to step into Diana's life when she and Jake are each invited to the same dinner party. To her delight and dismay, Jake remembers her immediately. Their primal attraction they each felt all those years ago is still evident. During dinner Jake tells Diana he is in Las Vegas for the summer due to a business venture. Her common sense tells her to stay away from Jake. A summer fling with Jake will undoubtedly break her heart, but Jake pursues her with such passion she can't resist. Diana goes into this relationship with her eyes wide open. She keeps reminding her heart that this romance is just a summer fling to Jake.
What will happen to Diana when Jake moves on?
Author Joy Tremay has written a tantalizing, irresistible tale of romance. Her characters are well developed and through her impeccable writing you find yourself getting lost in the story.
What a heartwarming and delightful read!

2.0 von 5 Sternen My Passion For This Book Died Quickly 11. September 2014
Von ToryMichaels - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book directly from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Quite simply - I didn't care for this book. I found it unrealistic (she met Jake on the beach and immediately started making out with him...and after that never forgot him/stopped wanting him for nine+ years; he's never forgotten/stopped wanting her either). I fail to honestly understand how they weren't able to find each other again since they were at a party of local high schoolers (from multiple schools, but still....). I get the explanation from the book, I just didn't find it realistic, especially in the modern world with Facebook and all the social media out there.

Then there was the sex stuff. Anyone who looks at my reviews knows I read a LOT of romance. The sex scenes weren't...bad, as such, I just didn't find them particularly appealing. I also am skeptical about a woman who wears nothing but thongs. Seriously. Every. Single. Time a pair of panties is mentioned, it's a thong. Yes, it's petty, but I really found it annoying.

I DID like the Las Vegas setting. It was refreshing to read about Vegas/Nevada without the automatic assumption that there's nothing but desert around. Clearly there were cooler areas that they could go to not far from the city, and I liked that. And of course, I did like Jake himself. He was a good man. I didn't care for HER, but Jake was nice.

I wanted to like the book, but I just didn't. Still, I'm grateful to the author for letting me have the chance to read it.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Finally, a WOMAN heroine! 24. August 2014
Von Angel Ryan - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
The Twilight series spawned an alarming new breed of heroine: virginal, 17-20-years-old; she doesn't know she's beautiful and that's what makes her beautiful; submissive but "bratty";
totally willing to be controlled by an overbearing stalker and suicidal when she's not around Her Man. The fact that teens were obsessed with the series was disconcerting at best and frightening at worst. Then along comes Twilight fan fiction demon baby 50 Shades of Grey. The archetype remains the same, but "naughty bits" are thrown in to lure the pre-menopausal crowd. Just when you thought it was safe to revisit the Kindle store, along comes After, which is, wait for it.... One Direction fan fiction!!!? Once more, the heroine fits the mold, but this time the Man is someone who, if he existed in real life, would've been arrested and jailed for assault/battery and stalking a dozen times over. All these series have passionate followers and the authors score millions writing treacle that should make any literate human woman cry. Suddenly, the clouds open up, and into this depressing weather clime arrives Passion Never Dies. The writing style is a grade above the usual breathless 7th grade level, and the story takes off briskly. The story continues in this propulsive manner and doesn't leave you hanging for 3 books before the heroine FINALLY accepts that her psycho Man loves her. The most refreshing thing about this story, however, is that the heroine here is 27 *gasp!!* She has a JOB, a loving family and friends and most importantly, SELF-ESTEEM. Yes, she questions the Man's intentions and interest in the beginning, but that's part of the recipe for these stories. The twist, if you will, is that she isn't willing to simply be a pawn in the story, and she has her own end game planned. I would say this book is more "romance" rather than the "erotica" of a 50 Shades, so if you prefer non-abusive relationship stories, I recommend this one.
