Worth reading but somewhat shallow in content

Some of the events are interesting but, for me, 'run of the mill' and seen on most TV programmes.
I would have preferred the more interesting cases described to have included the outcomes. I appreciate it's difficult when paramedics deal with the initial trauma then hand over to the A & E department but I dislike being left in limbo and not knowing what happened to some of the patients.
Be prepared for upset in two cases and for the usual ranting against the NHS and how the budget is allocated.
Another book which confirms, to me, that drink and drugs in the UK are not just costing users their own lives but diverting funds away from those in need of medical intervention through no fault of their own.

I was quite pleased to learn that problems faced with Paramedics in England are pretty much the same as those faced by those here in the states. I found Stuart Gray's style of writing very fluid and enjoyable. The only thing I can honestly say in the negative is I was not expecting the subject manner to be based in England. Otherwise, I found the book very good and have recommended it to others.

A very good read, it tells how they are often over worked and work tirelessly to keep the people alive.It's not all glory, but then any one who thinks working around tragedy and sad situations is, are foolish people. These professionals must know, with out a doubt what they are needing to save a life.
