Origami books are rarely written in German, and more rare with complex models. So welcome these two books by Budai Peter, a growing star in the origami world. Yes, compared to those mature models by John Montroll or Robert J. Lang, or those glowing models by Japenese folders, models here seem a bit raw and need more refinement, and you can find the strong influnce of those Masters in this book. However, these two books (Papierfalten-grenzenlos und Papierspielzeuge) are never merely immitation. Every careful folder will easily recognize the talent hidden in these models. Some models are unexpected, as Razor knife, dinosaur footprint, small tropic island, tree with leaves, strom cloud. Some are super-complex fit to those crazy folders, as biplane, monoplane, Stag Beetle. As for me, the book Papierspielzeuge contains more intermediate and geometric models than Papierfalten, which has more variations. However in my opinion both books are worth to read and fold. I hope the author can fold more and then his models will be more sophiscated. It is always welcome by folders to have good origami books full of good creations.
