After reading "A Bear Called Paddington" and "More About Paddington", I then moved onto this book, "Paddington Abroad". But I decided after finishing it that it wasn't quite up to the same high standard as the previous two.
The Browns decide to go on holiday to France and Paddington being Paddington, he has to be prepared. So he gets the maps and plans the schedules (with snacks every hour). He also gets some books on France from Mr Gruber and he learns some basic French, such as learning to say that "the stagecoach has broken down".
They then travel to France where Paddington quickly makes friends in a French village. He goes to the beach, gets his palm read by a fortune teller and plays the drums in a band. He also manages to get everyone stranded on an island.
As usual though, the illustrations are fantastic and Paddington IS adorable!
