An excellent anthology - this isn't a freeform weed freakout in prose, but rather a meticulously researched collection of pieces about all things cannabis (academic, literary/poetic, historical, cultural, medical, legal) especially as pertains to the Old World traditions of India, the Middle East, and Europe.
Everything from recipes (majoun, bhang, oysters Ferlinghetti, brownies, dawamesk, and more) to cannabis' religious associations in Vedic & Islamic spirituality, this is proving to be a great book for just picking up and starting a chapter at random - you're guaranteed to learn something new just about any page you choose.
I bought it just because Hakim Bey was one of the chief editors, but would recommend it to anyone and everyone who is even casually interested in learning more...
