There are two personality traits I can recall possessing for just about as far back as my memory will serve. The first is a love of writing and the second is a malicious sense of humor. Since childhood, I have been the person who roots for the bad guy in movies and laughs when Bambi's mom gets shot. I take interest in the flaws of a character far more than the heroic characteristics, which have a tendency bore me. I find humor in places I'm told I really shouldn't. I started writing short stories and screenplays shortly after I learned to construct a sentence and haven't stopped since. As a high school student I wrote and shot home movies in my spare time while performing stand up comedy weekly at a talent show. I also wrote short stories with titles like Teacher Slayers (for which I am still astounded that I was not expelled). My writing is typically bleak and violent with a fun, satirical edge that should tickle the funny-bones of anyone who is as sick as I am.

This was a fast paced comedy of errors with a high body count. There are lots of funny, engaging characters who are after the same bag of stolen money, cases of mistaken identity that don't end well, and it all made me laugh out loud while I was reading. This was a very bloody, disturbing, and humorous book. Highly recommended for anyone with a twisted sense of humor.

I agree with another reviewer that this book reads like a movie. I could see the scenes as I read. It is filled with an ensemble of crazy, messed up, twisted individuals. The quest for the case of stolen money is like a tornado that whips around town, snatching people up, spinning them around, then spitting out their mangled corpses. Mistaken identities, bad decisions, alcohol and drug abuse, graphic violence, and profanity abound. It is shocking, sickening, intriguing, but somehow funny as well. I don't know how to describe how a book can be violent and gross and humorous at the same time, but if you just take my word for it and read the book you will see. The humor is inappropriate and wrong, but I still found myself laughing out loud while reading the book. The murder and mayhem are entertaining, but what takes the book from good to great is that the plot is very well-constructed, with several story lines, each with surprising twists, that continuously overlap.

This was a wickedly funny but devilishly macabre novel with a number of violent deaths, innumerable instances of sex (mostly perverted), and marvellously funny. You'll feel guilty about enjoying yourself while reading this and wonder how can murder, sex, and perversion be so funny. Thank Mr. Sisco because he has taken the genre that we associate with authors like Hiaasen and taken to the not-for-the-squeamish level. Be aware that this book contains much foul language, many people being violently killed and mutilated, and lots of sex.
