A perfect example of the cookbook approach 12. September 2012
Von Amazon Customer - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
As the title says, this book does just what it promises. It contains short but complete and concise examples of how to leverage oData in every imaginable scenario (as well as some I never would have thought of). It has me thinking about new ways to solve old problems. All the examples include relevant screenshots and code snippets and there is a full code library available which I haven't had time to look at yet.

The book is probably best for someone with some prior exposure to some of the technologies (Entity Framework, LINQ to SQL, DotNet databinding).

Well done!

Comprehensive and practical reference book on OData and WCF Data Service programming 24. September 2012
Von Janet.G - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Really a good handbook for getting start on OData and WCF Data Service programming (especially for .NET programmers :) ). The examples in this book are quite comprehensive and practical.

Personally, I like the "Using OData in Web application" and "OData on Mobile Devices" chapters very much, because many of those examples and ideas have been applied into my work.

Also, it would be nicer if there could have more detailed explanations for some of the complicated recipes.

Nice job!
Not much theory, all samples with very detail steps 11. Januar 2013

Not much theory, but has lots of samples tell you how to create a data service with very detail steps. I always like sample driven book, you can learn from it and put in your project very quickly.

Recently, I’m developing a windows8 app, I find OData is the ideal backend service. I tried to find some sample from internet, but they are not well organized. This book has the exact sample I need, and saved so much time for me. I even follow the book to implement some advanced feature, however, later it turn out to be overkilled :)

Well, OData is an extension on WCF, I would say It’s better to have basic knowledge about WebService or WCF before you start reading this book.
OData for beginners 18. April 2014

Simple and easy to understand introduction into OData. Nice to see that code really works. It gives you feeling that you can do.
I do recommend this book to those who are interested in WCF technology.
ok, but average 3. Juni 2014

Does not cover OData Web API. Wcf Data Services will become deprecated soon from an OData point of view. Good info but a bit outdated
