Heart-racing suspense and irresistable characters from the bestselling author of TOUCH & GO, CATCH ME, LOVE YOU MORE and many others.
My name is Dr Adeline Glen. Due to a genetic condition I can't feel pain.
All Boston Detective D.D. Warren remembers is walking the crime scene. Next, a creaking floorboard, a voice in her ear... Now D.D. is seriously injured and unable to return to work.
My sister is Shana Day, a notorious child murderer. She has killed more people in prison than as a free woman.

Then a second victim is found with the same calling cards left at the scene: champagne and a single red rose. Only D.D. may have seen the killer, but she recalls nothing from the night that may have cost her everything.
Our father was Harry Day, an infamous serial killer dead for over forty years. The Rose Killer knows things about my father he shouldn't. All I know is my family still has the power to hurt me.

Now D.D. is back on the hunt. Because the Rose Killer isn't just targeting lone women, he is targeting D.D. And D.D. knows there is only one way to take him down:

5.0 von 5 Sternen A page-turner 17. Januar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I take a fancy for stories that catch my breath. Lisa Gardner's Fear Nothing qualifies as one of them. She is very descriptive and engaging and her plot is clever and and well laid out. I also like the way she developed her characters, which all add up to me this story the bestseller that it is. Fear Nothing fulfills its page-turner purpose like Lone Survivor, Triple Agent Double Cross, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I have my sights for other Lisa Gardner stories.

4.0 von 5 Sternen A TOP-NOTCH PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER! 7. Januar 2014
Von Online Book Reviews - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe
Fear Nothing by Lisa Gardner, the seventh in the detective D.D. Warren series, is a freshly-baked story that is a fast-paced and full of twists and turns, with interesting characters and heart-pounding edge of the seat action while keeping her signature formula intact. It is a suspenseful book with a sinister edge to it. This installment from the D.D. Warren series is simply absorbing.

In Fear Nothing, Warren suffers from an avulsion fracture when she is taken by surprise by an assailant at a crime scene. She is advised to speak to Dr. Adeline Glen, who is a pain specialist. As she is recovering from her injury, a serial killer is on the loose in the streets of Boston, whose MO bears striking resemblance to Adeline’s own sister.

Fear Nothing is a top-notch crime and psychological thriller that explores the issue of nature versus nurture debate which is quite interesting. It is the idea that certain things are genetic which is best reflected in Adeline. Daughter of a well-known killer who suggests blood is love, Adeline also battles her own demons that will leave readers shuddering.

What is particularly fascinating about Lisa Gardner’s novels is her sweeping portrayal of her characters who are totally different from each other. Think of the main protagonist, and other characters like Adeline and Shana – they are poles apart. Fear Nothing has a serial killer who removes people’s skin and a woman prisoner who is a psychopath. If you loved her earlier books, you will love this one too. Lisa Gardner doesn’t disappoint! She keeps you guessing to the very end.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Huge Fan Annoyed with Repetitive Elements 18. Januar 2014
Von Deb J. Ledford - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe|Verifizierter Kauf
I am a die-hard Lisa Gardner Fan and have read every one of her mystery novels. It pains me to say that I just didn't enjoy her latest very much. D.D. Warren is one of my favorite Gardner characters, and she didn't disappoint--always hard-as-nails, going beyond the call of duty, this time with a debilitating injury that restricts every action and decision. However, the numerous repetitive passages killed the read for me. This one could have used a good editor to trim elements that became quite annoying as the book progressed.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Sinister, riveting & the best DD Warren book to date 8. Januar 2014

My Review: Lisa Gardner is well known for her suspenseful reads filled with interesting characters, twists and turns as well as some edge of your seat action thrown in for good measure. This book doesn't disappoint.

This wasn't my first time reading a book in Gardner's D.D Warren series but this is definitely my favourite book featuring D.D. While it had Ms Gardners' signature suspenseful writing it also had a very sinister, eerie feel to it. Yup. It was ultra creepy {inner shiver} and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read.

Lisa Gardner is not only known for her suspenseful writing but she's also known as being very adept at letting her readers really get to know her characters. She doesn't write one-dimensional characters that are easy to predict. D.D, Adeline and Shana were all very detailed characters, each with their own very distinct issues and voices within the book. Readers get glimpses into the characters' lives, motivations, thoughts and actions but at the same time the momentum of the storyline never feels bogged down. The mark of a great suspense writer.

In "Fear Nothing", Gardner addresses the 'nature versus nurture' issue but within a very chilling context and I was quite riveted throughout the entire book. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep this reader from guessing 'whodunnit' until very close to the end.

My Rating: 4/5 stars

1.0 von 5 Sternen I can't believe I'm about to say this about a Lisa Gardner book but... 16. Januar 2014
Von LolaM - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
It was one of the worst, most preposterous books I have read in a long, long time. And, this is coming from a long-time Lisa Gardner book who has read and loved every book she has ever written. In a genre where female characters often do silly things, I always appreciated the fact that Ms. Gardner's characters never made me want to shake my head and scream, "No thinking, rational person would EVER do that!" No more. It wasn't just Adeline either. I really liked the Warden (?) character--She seemed smart and capable. and I was definitely interested in knowing more about her...Right up until she was part of a scene that was so unbelievable it bordered on flat-out absurd. I am not often frustrated by a book but I was this one. I expect a smartly written book when I read a Lisa Gardner book and this just wasn't it. Very disappointed.
