I looked through this book and "New Zealand-A Pictorial Journey". Both books fail to convey the unique aspects of New Zealand. The country has more sheep than humans but where are the photos? The fiords, Milford Sound and Trek, Queensland, Rarotonga's thermal area, and the Southern Alps are just touched on. I fault the author of this book for having so many photos of people or groups instead of landscapes. The hedgerows which substitute for fences are not shown. Even the unique view from the roads driving through the lush forests would be an improvement. I had hoped that this book would be a pleasant reminder of my trip to New Zealand but it left me frustrated. The photo of the pua shell room was nice as we bought some salt/pepper shakers. I do agree with the reviewer who thought the photos were a high quality. I too have looked at most of the New Zealand books and been very disappointed in the photography. Both books do have maps and helpful info for tourists.
