Despite at least four or five typeos, the author does a very good job of explaining networking in simple language.

He keeps the chapters short.

The companion cd is very helpful.

This book is much better and $20 cheaper than the New Riders Network+ Study Guide.

I read this book from cover to cover as my main learning aid for Network+ certification. I passed on my first try with a score of 85%. The author did a great job in the format of the book, chapters are short and point out the important stuff. He pounds the information into your head by summarizing it before going into the detail, and throughout the book he goes over the important stuff again. The end of chapter exams are great as well as the end of book exam. The practice tests on the CD are worth the money alone. I did find some errors but that just helped me to understand those particular areas better. Besides, try to find a book without errors, you won't. Great Book! Highly Reccomend!

A cost effective certification book, all the rewards in half the time compared to more expensive and voluminous books. I scored 95%. The CDROM is better than the book. Majority of Network+ material on the market are really overkill. N+ certification is really a waterdown version of Microsoft Network Essentials and TCP/IP. I have no real professional network experinece. All I got is my A+ and two semester of Cisco Network Academy.
