Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf der Untersuchung von Gesundheits- und Umweltrisiken in der Nanotechnologie.

Previously he was Professor at the Institut for Toxikology und Genetics a the Research Centre Karlsruhe (FZK). His research focus on the health and environmental risks of nanotechnology.
