Okay, I admit, this book is a great size to carry with you everywhere. It even has some useful maps (which you can buy for about 10Rs from any street corner). However, I can count at least 4 times where we jumped in a cab trying to find a bar or club in this book and it didn't exist!
Addresses were wrong, opening times were wrong, descriptions of restaurants and bars were wrong, directions were unreliable. It got so ridiculous that if any information was wrong elsewhere we would joke that it must have come from the lonely planet. The ONE occasion (when we were giving the book one last chance!) when we were trying to find the Red Light club, the directions provided in the Lonely Planet were completely wrong, we only found the club because we'd spent so much time in that area of town that we spotted the "red light" (great place by the way).
I usually am quite happy with lonely planet publications, but would leave this one alone unless you find it humorous getting a 45 minute cab to a place that doesn't exist.
