A wonderful collection of recipes filled with fresh ideas and flavors. The instructions are crystal-clear and EASY. I look forward to using this new cookbook at my Bed and Breakfast. Some of my favorite recipes: Amaretto Walnut, Banana Rum Raisin, Blue Cheese Cornmeal, Fig and Smoked Ham, Macaroni and Cheese, Marbled Chocolate Cheesecake, Pizza, Smoked Turkey and Wild Rice, Sweet Potato-Maple Walnut, Tuna Muenster Melt, Tex-Mex Pumpkin Corn, Honey-Glazed Bran, and the BEST Blueberry muffins ever!!

I love to bake and to try new recipe.
After trying one recipe from this book -Buttermilk Pecan Muffins- I wonder if autor ever tryed any of this recipe herself!
Muffins came out with strong taste of baking soda! No one in my family liked it and we had to throw it away! Most of her recipe require 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda or baking powder!!! Yes, tablespoons! I could not believe it!
I would not recomend this book at all.

Glancing through the table of contents, I was fascinated with Francesca Dipaolo highly creative and unique recipes (e.g., carrot-cream cheese muffins, chive and black pepper cornmeal muffins, sour cream and peach muffins). Her simple technique of separating dry and wet ingredients, while not new, was well explained and demonstrated throughout each recipe. Given the host of interesting recipes in this book and the author's fool-proof technique, I had imagined myself whipping up unparalleled muffins that would bring people to their knees. I was, however, completely disappointed with the final product. I tried about 20 recipes in the book, all with the same sad end. Each recipe yielded muffins with a heavy and mealy consistency. This is probably Dipaolo's muffin preference (heavy and hearty versus light and fluffy) and the recipes have been constructed around her taste. This is not the recipe book for those with a taste for fat and fluffy quick breads.

Disgusting! Just like another reviewer, I was surprised that a recipe for 12 muffins called for 1 tablespoon of baking soda AND 1 tablespoon of baking powder. But, I gave the author the benefit of the doubt, seeing that the quantities were enormous and actually came out to making 18 muffins.

After just one bite of the banana muffin, my eldest son yelled: "Ack! These taste like gasoline!" (not that my son has ever tasted gasoline, but you know how 14 year olds are with their exagerations) Very disappointing. Doubt I'll be trying any other recipes. Total rip-off.

This book is very easy to follow and understand,the author is very up to date about muffin making.She is consent telling the reader the amounts to be put in so you dont have to go back and check what needs to be added
