Fantastic - I loved it. My all time favorite and I have read them ALL and I mean ALL of the Star Trek novel from number 1 of the Classic series on.
Maybe not your standard issue Star Trek novel but it's funny and entertaining.
Diehard Trekkie probably had heart attacks all over the place after this one, but if you are in it for fun, this is your novel.
It's a nice change to the rest of the novels that tirelessly trying to change the world and the reader into Gene Roddenberry's vision of a perfect world.
Sure the rest of the novels are nice "shoot 'em up - Bang Bang" novel but humor is missing. And when it rears its head, feuding Aliens and dieing crewmen and women beat it down.
This one lets us laugh at our holly cow - STAR TREK.
Star Trek I love you, you let me leave this planet every time I pick up your novels, but please give us more novels like this one so I can have a hearty laugh while I am traveling among the stars.

A wonderful and mysterious story. The reader is kept guessing until the very end. Entirely untypical of the usual Star Trek stuff (I am a real Trekkie, mind you!) but a great comedy with all the classical elements of a good slapstick piece. I wish there were more Star Trek stories of this kind!

The worst Star Trek novel of all time. Avoid at all costs. Sometimes, Star Trek franchise Quality Control breaks down, and we end up with junk such as this. Pink yoghurt coming from the air vents? Don't waste your time.

A Classic...
This book is just classic Star Trek. It really is an apogee of fine literature. The winding plot and hilarious Interludes makes this a great book.
