Eine eher schwache Folge 15. Februar 2012
Von seasack
Format:Taschenbuch

Monk is rolling! Yes this is like reading what happens to a caged animal that gets loose or let out of his pen. With nothing to hang around his neck, and the weight of the show and the television season gone, Lee Goldberg takes the characters to new heights. We get to finally see what the man can do with a set of characters on the open highway. I personally love it. Think about it, what can the man do with Monk? The guy keeps himself in a box and is the central character, and personally I don't want him messed with too much, maybe a tweek here and there. The rest of the crew just starts to roll and build on the last offering which I thought was an amazing piece. Here is a peek inside the novel:
'Three strangers, each a murder victim: a security guard, a struggling student, and a beautiful woman. They have something more in common than death and Monk can't believe what it is-a couch. Before you find out why, you'd better sit down.'
Okay the synopsis is brief, what do you want, it's Monk. Here is the deal for me: the writing by Lee Goldberg just rules. The characters have never had it this good, and I personally wish this was a three or four times a year thing. Ambrose, Stottlemeyer, the intense Devlin (a great foil), and Natalie are finally being removed from Monk's shadow and taking on lives of their own. Could other stand alones be forth coming? Could we see an Ambrose, Devlin, or a Natalie digital short story in the future? I for one would love that!

Another great way to get your Monk "fix" 18. Juni 2011
Von T. Tibbetts - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

I have watched and own every Monk episode and always look forward to a new Lee Goldberg Monk book and as always, I finished this in the first day now forced to wait months for another. I really enjoyed it but it is not my favorite Monk book so far.

The character development has been great as much has changed since the series ended. This actually has a couple of different murders to solve as well as a sidebar story that runs alongside Monk with the other characters. Great idea! Early on I felt as if the Monk traits were a bit overkill and feared that might ruin the book but as it went on it returned to a perfect pace with even a few laugh out loud comments from Monk.

My only other complaint that might not be important to some but it bothered me for some reason. I don't want to give away too much, so you can skip this paragraph though I really don't think you will miss this when you see it. I had to re-write this three or four times until I felt it would not give the book plot away. I think they gave away who did it a bit early. Similar plot twists have been used on the show but since you see a dozen or more episodes a year over 8 years and only a book a year I am not sure I liked that. It just seemed too over the top obvious. As I (and you if you love Monk) knew who the killer was pretty early on I spent the rest of the book waiting for them to reveal it. I would have preferred that the obvious was held off a bit longer. I still loved reading the book though and think you will as well.

I look forward to the next book!

Yet another great Monk novel! 1. September 2011
Von Greg Hopper - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe|Von Amazon bestätigter Kauf
Monk is back, and this case gets pretty brutal as various bodies turn up all within a few blocks of Natalie's house! New addition to the series Lt. Devlin takes over for the much missed Randy Disher, and she's a treat. A former undercover vice cop, she's rough and tough, and with no time to deal with Monk's issues or even be civil to Natalie, but Goldberg obviously has lots more to reveal over the next few books about her. The mystery's a great one as Monk pieces together seemingly unrelated murders to finally figure out the killer. He also makes a new friend who enjoys cleaning as much as he does, which provides some great laughs! All in all, another home run for Goldberg and Monk.

Another great Monk novel 25. Juli 2011
Von rram - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe
In Lee Goldberg's 12th Monk novel, Natalie gets a chance to test out her own detective skills, when a mysterious man dies in a hotel room. He is said to have died of natural causes, and the police, and Monk, believe that this is true. However, Natalie believes otherwise. So, she starts to investigate on her own.
This novel follows Natalie as she tries to solve this case, while helping Monk and the police solve a series of murders that seem to be connected.
