Generally informative book 6. Juli 2013
Von Amazonia Reforestation - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
This is an enjoyable read, with a fair coverage of the information. Two areas that I think would be useful to add for any book of this nature is maybe a more detailed description of cultivation in tropical zones, and general maintenance information like pruning, etc. I am cultivating moringa in the Orinoco River basin of Colombia, and find that due to our soil conditions and annual rainfall, we do have cultivation issues, such as slower than anticipated growth, rabbit problems (they dig for the roots), deer problems (they strip the top leaves and branches), as well as what other species may be best for social planting and to boost competition for better results. I also felt that some of the citations were weak, for example one should never cite oneself, in my opinion, unless it is a separate study. Natural products often suffer from poor scientific study to support the claims made, or from misinterpreted studies where the focus was different from what the writer is trying to support. Having said that, I think this is a good book and well worth having in one's library. Here in Colombia there is an industry that makes food pellets for animals out of moringa, which are high protein cattle feed, so we are keen on using our moringa not just for human consumption, but also for forage during the dry season, when our Cebu cows get skinny.

Moringa, Nature's Medicine Cabinet 12. März 2007
Von M. Bingana - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
The book by Sanford Holst is written with simplicity to denote people's every day association with moringa. The experiences of people and empirical research makes the book appitizing to read and skim through. A host of references used in this book shows that Holst is not a dreamer and he is not alone in trying to inspire people to take a look at nature's medicine cabinet. This is trully a valuable asset to both the skeptics and moringa advocates like me who believe that popularizing moringa will be mankind's greatest achievement in a world where poverty and diseases are universal challenges.

Moringa: Nature's Medicine Cabinet (2nd Rating) 17. November 2004
Von Dennis Mason - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Overall, I thought the book was informative but more could have been written on the benefits of the moringa tree, and less on recipes.

Most of what I read on the nutritional benefits of Moringa and the rejuvinating effects the various parts of the tree have on people were already well known to me because of the many websites I have visited.

I find it interesting that the seed pods are being used to purify water in third world countries and that many citizens of these same countries are being well nourished by the Moringa tree, which is easily accessable.

I had hoped that more information on the curative effects and scientific studies of the plant would be included in the book.

Most likely at least a few more books about this amazing plant will be published in the future, because of the heightened awareness of the tree. Direct-sales distributors are already joining forces with a company called Zija ([...] launch a new commercial venture touting the amazing benefits of moringa.

Very informative book. 25. Mai 2013
Von Lori J. Fedele - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

I really did not know anything about Moringa before seeing it on Amazon. This book explains all you need to know about Moringa. If you do not know much about Moringa I would recommend you buy this book before buying any Moringa products. After reading this book I bought Moringa oil (which keeps your skin very soft), Moringa seeds so I can start my own plants, and Moringa powder (which I put in a smoothie). The book is very informative and helpful.

Moringa: Nature's Medicine Cabinet 17. September 2013

Since reading the detailed description of this miracle tree I have purchased seeds, planted them and enjoyed some of the benefits
described in this book. Suddenly I am able to sleep through the night. I hope to convince my friends to read about the
miracle tree and harvest some of the benefits of Moringa leaves. Thank you.
