I purchased this book for a four-day trip to Croatia in August 2010 with stops in Dubrovnik and Korcula. Much to our disappointment, about half of the restaurant recommendations for Dubrovnik were obsolete, as these restaurants had closed and been replaced with something else. The information for Korcula amounted to a slim four pages. We most regretted that the book contains no guide to simple Croatian phrases. In short, the guide is a bit slim and out of date.
With that said, I found the author to be honest about the relative value of various destinations. I felt I could trust her judgment about the locations described, including restaurants (when they were still running). The map for Dubrovnik's walled city--with restaurants and attractions labeled--was helpful, though inconveniently located within the text of the book instead of at the back.
While in Dubrovnik, I peaked at the Time Out guide for Croatia and was surprised to find more thorough coverage of Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian islands than you can find in this Moon guide. In general I recommend Time Out guides over all others (especially if you're a younger traveler), and I should have stuck with my standard this time as well...
