When the past hurts, it bites.

    Takhini Wolves, Book 4

Meet Evan Stone. Laid-back, in-control Alpha of the Takhini Wolves. Life’s not perfect, but he’s got a good handle on his world. At least, he did—until the night he ends up in jail, soaking wet and wondering what the hell just happened.

The “what” is Amy Ryba, a vengeful female who’s decided it’s long past time to make Evan pay for his sins. Amy has spent years tracking him down, and the last nine months working in secret to destroy him. She’s ready for anything—except discovering the shifter she hates is her mate.

Suddenly, Evan’s not so very in control, of himself or his pack. And unless Amy can learn to forgive and forget, she’ll have to do the unthinkable: reject her mate.

With two packs watching, one thing is certain. Their personal issues won’t stay personal for long. If Amy and Evan can’t find a way to work together, there won’t be a happily-ever-after for them…or any of the wolves of Whitehorse.

Warning: Contains angsty wolves. Lots of angsty wolves causing explosions of all sorts, playing bad pranks, hacking computers, and having angry sex against a wall or two. Not all at the same time, though, because that would be silly.

I love the Takhini Wolves series and got hooked to Vivian Arend's books after I read Wolf Signs and I wanted Evan, Alpha of the Takhini Pack find his mate since he showed up the first time on my radar. Keep writing Vivian Arend and I keep reading. You're on my pre-order list for every book you will publish

    3.0 von 5 Sternen I’ve been anticipating Evan’s book for a while. 1. Juni 2014

I’ve been anticipating Evan’s book for a while. He’s the Alpha of Takhini and has been looking and waiting to find his mate. Especially after his human “girlfriend” just found her own mate and he was left single for the first time in a long time. She just happens to have been sort of under his nose for a while, and has an agenda against him.

This is a sort of enemies to lovers story. Amy comes to avenge the death of her brother, which she blames on Evan. She comes as the Alpha of her own pack, Canyon. A pack of misfits and wolves that don’t fit in with the Takhini lifestyle. She’s a bit of a badass in a way, but I think a bit too “I’m woman, hear me roar” for my taste. I love a strong heroine more than anything, but I guess she crossed into the bitchy territory for me.

As much as Amy is a strong heroine and a tough Alpha chick, Evan becomes much too beta for me. He wants his mate, he knows there’s a huge misunderstanding and there’s reasons why she should hate him. Until she knows the truth. But the way he backs up and backs down sometimes made me fall a bit less in love with him. I usually love his fun personality but when it comes to his mate, I want the Alpha to show. And I didn’t feel I got that until the end of this story.

That aside, this book provided quite a bit of comedic relief because these two are hysterical. And Shaun as well. There are a lot of funny one liners and moments that made me smile. For 80% this book was a very light read and then towards the end we got some action to rev things up. I just can’t say that Evan and Amy will go down as one of my favorite couples. But bring on the next one!

5.0 von 5 Sternen I've been waiting for Evan and she didn't disappoint at all 27. Mai 2014

Evan has been looking for his mate since he smelled her scent. Amy has been working against him for years. How can they work out their differences?
I love Evan from the other Takhini books. Note: this book works well as stand alone as well. He is sweet and laid back. This book shows a whole other side of him. I wasn't sure how she could make go with the flow Evan's life difficult for this book but Amy is it; drama, hacking, TPing and garbage dumping to hilarious effect.
If you haven't read the series, I suggest starting with Wolf Signs (my favorite) and read the 4 books in that series before reading Takhini. All are interconnected and great books but many, like this one, can be stand alone.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Fantastic and Hot! 13. Juni 2014

Moon Shine is the latest in Vivian Arend’s Takhini Wolves series, and it is set in the world Ms. Arend has built so well. The characters are well developed and personable, folks you’d like to sit and share a meal and good conversation with of an evening. I enjoy visiting this world, and have spent many evenings visiting with the people that live and love in this place. Ms. Arend combines humor and romance in a most unique manner with her wolves, and I look forward to each of her new stories.

As Alpha of the Takhini Pack, life is usually pretty smooth for Evan Stone. But recently, things have really gotten crazy. First, Caroline went off and got married, leaving her job as manager of most of the packs holdings. Then, Evan got a whiff of his long sought mate, but can’t seem to find her anywhere. Finally, things have gone haywire in all the pack businesses and Evan is told that what was supposed to belong to the pack, doesn’t anymore. Add to that the stress and negotiations of trying to unite the two Whitehorse packs into one unified group, and Evan is really going crazy. Amy Ryba has been wanting revenge on Evan Stone for years, and now, as Alpha of the Canyon Pack in Whitehorse, she is set to put her schemes in motion. He will pay for what he did. But things get complicated when Amy discovers that, of all the wolf shifters in the world, her one destined mate is Evan Stone. When Amy confronts Evan with who she is and why she is out to ruin him, can she accept his reasons for his actions and finally let the past rest in peace. Or will she do the one thing that is almost unheard of in shifter society…reject her mate? Can these two resolve the past and unite the packs to the benefit of everyone?

Amy Ryba is smart, strong and determined to make Evan Stone pay for the pain of her past. She is willing to do whatever it takes to get the revenge she feels is her right, but once she meets Evan, she realizes he is her mate, and she must decide whether she should learn why he did what he did and learn to accept, or turn her back on the one true mate she will ever have. I like that Amy was smart enough to give Evan a chance to explain his actions of the past, and was open minded enough to realize things were not exactly what she had always believed. I like Amy’s sense of loyalty to her friends, and her determination to see that her pack is not ignored in the overall scheme of things.

Evan Stone is strong and easy going, a born leader and Alpha of the Takhini Pack. He is also tortured with nightmares of his past, a past that haunts him and formed his protective nature. He has waited for his mate, watching the rest of his friends find love, and wanting more. He wants to strengthen the two Whitehorse Packs, uniting them into one integrated group. I liked watching as he realized his mate was near, and the things he was willing to do to find her. I liked Evan’s patience when he found Amy, and discovered what she had done in the name of revenge. I also liked that he was willing to open up old wounds to try and put the past behind for Amy as well as himself.

There is suspense, humor and romance in this, with lots of ingenious tricks from Amy and her techno wolves of the Canyon pack, all aimed at Evan and the Takhini Pack. When a serious threat to both Amy and Evan arises, they need to learn to function as equals and as Alphas to keep disaster from ruining both packs forever. I had some giggles and laugh out loud moments here, and some tearful ones as well. The romance is slow to build, but once these two get together, the heat goes off the charts. I recommend this one to shifter lovers and anyone who likes a bit of laughter with their loving.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Series continues with good deep plot 3. Juni 2014

It was a long time ago that I read about Evan scenting his mate. The wait was worth it. Evan and Amy; two opposite ends of the alpha spectrum have huge difficulties to overcome. Number one, she's trying to ruin him in revenge. As a computer person, she has ways to destroy the Takhini pack leader he didn't see coming. Her Canyon pack is full of lone wolves with damages and problems. SHe's a natural nurturer. He's a natural brawler. They must negotiate the problems of combining their packs and their lives. It takes a while to work out, but it's never boring.

It is a good read. Lots of insight into personalities and motivations. And very good sex/love scenes.

Well written and worth the time. none of this "all problems solved in 190 pages" stuff. Arend explores the depths of personalities and the plot. I didn't give it all 5 starts because the Takhini rebels were from central casting and had no real depth.

I await the next installment. Good writers craft their work. Arend crafts her's well.

I did enjoy the previous stories from this series but this book I couldn't even finish. I HAVE never met a more annoying character then Reba. AND for Ethan to be a pack ALPHA? Blah the guy sounded more like a cry baby. I read many stories and have seen many characters but theyou fit the bill of their title. I'm not sure if the story was just wrong or that the characters just were not written the way they were perceived in previous stories. Especially Ethan. He is in the previous booKS and his character is shown as an alpha male. But in this book. It was like I was reading about a whinning child. And his attitude literally made this book not even worth continuing. No Bueno
