"Monsters" is the 3rd and final instalment within Ilisa J Bick's `Ashes trilogy' ending this fantastic saga with a Hollywood blockbuster bang. In a brutally harsh world where monsters rise up from the Ashes, the changed continue to evolve transforming this Zombie wasteland into a bloodbath. With vivid action-packed, gory drama the violence continues to build until reaching an epic cliffhanger ending that's movie quality. With over 800 pages of nail bitingly intense storyline to get stuck into, this is an addictive read of immense proportions and breathtaking scope. Having followed Alex's journey with dedicated interest since the beginning, this haunting and profoundly impacting conclusion left me ultimately satisfied. Alex and Tom and the changed are characters who will remain nestled within my memory for all-time, and this outstanding story by a brilliant author.
Memorable quotes ~
"Why can't you like me?" he said, his voice breaking. His scent steamed then, hot and heady with a welter of contradictions: apples and fire and electric roil of those cold, black shadows. "Why can't you like me just a little?"
She would never know how she might have answered, because he never gave her the chance.

¯ Ilsa J. Bick, Ashes
"She's got the kind of ethereal, unselfconscious beauty some young girls possess that breaks your heart. Or theirs."
¯ Ilsa J. Bick, Drowning Instinct
"In that very last second, she closed her mouth, held her breath, thought about just maybe saving herself for...well, for something. Someone. Tom, maybe."

Twilight fans will devour this book, as too will those who enjoy Young Adult post-apocalyptic novels like `The fifth Wave' and `the hunger games'. If you enjoy Zombie novels then the Ashes trilogy has to be one of the best.
