Kurzbeschreibung

An emotional roller coaster on the subject of personal finances. The book is written in an easy to read style, and pulls the reader into the story. It is my real life story, taking the reader on a journey of discovery as I go from shunning any sort of worldly wealth, to realising that we all need money. But how do we get it, especially when we do not want to have to sell all our time at a job. I was working fulltime in a voluntary capacity, so could not take on a job as well, yet I learned how to get money for my family on an ongoing basis.
You see a normal job ties up our time and our creativity, so we have to find other ways to create an income and over the years I have had absolutely no money at all, and then have gone on to create wealth, only to lose it all and start all over again. This book tells my story, my financial journey over the years. This is not a story of rags to riches, and it's not a story of someone born with some great advantage, or secret knowledge etc. I am just a normal guy, but as I have gone through life, I have discovered that there really is no such thing as "Job Security".

Therefore we must learn "How To Get Money?", for ourselves. In this book I will share with you how I started out with just $50, and took on a challenge to double that, and that challenge changed my life. I will go on to share with you many of the things I did to "Get Money" and then how I managed to lose it all, more than once, and each time how I started again using the exact same principles I share in this book.

Throughout the book I have used scriptural references, as I come from a Christian Background, and spent many years working as a volunteer in a Christian Organisation. However the book is not just for a Christian Audience, it is for everyone for all walks of life and all faiths

You see I know these principles work, because I use them every single day, and you can to, regardless of where in the world you live.

So get your copy of "What's That In Your Hand??? devour it and start making a difference in your life.

You will be glad you did, and can I encourage you, to get a copy for your Teenage Kids too. They need all the help they can get, as it's going to get a lot harder in the future, especially, if all the skills they have, is how to get a job. So do the kids a favor, get them to read this book, and set them up with a skill that will last a lifetime. A skill that will teach them "How to Get Money" rather than How to get a Job?

5.0 von 5 Sternen A different take on finances 17. Mai 2013
Von RFY - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I appreciate any book on financial advice that takes the approach of "no one owes me, therefore I must do it myself." My words, not the author's... he writes much better than I. Written for people from all walks of life, from the silver spoon fed to those grubbing for minimum wage (or less), this is a deeply personal, and yes spiritual, journey of a man who has tried, failed, tried and succeeded in his financial growth. He says "until each of us as individuals can come to the place of realizing that "NO-ONE" owes us anything, we can never move forward..." and I completely agree.

This is unlike any other financial advice book I've ever read, unique and powerful. Yes there is a lot of biblical quoting going on in here but it is done in a way that is fitting to the text at hand. Even this old atheist didn't have a problem with it so don't let that put you off if you're having reservations. It's a great motivational tool to help you develop a positive outlook on making your own money no matter what.

5.0 von 5 Sternen The most honest and most practical book I have ever read about making money. 14. Mai 2013
Von Gregory Smith - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
One of the greatest curses in my life is that as much as I love money, I don't know exactly how to make it. I have been fired or asked to resign from most of my jobs, my work ethic isn't all that great, and while I have read books by Ayn Rand and embrace individualism, I have yet to be successful in business because I'm shy, suck at sales, and lack motivation. Well, this book is different, this is the story of a very generous man, a man who works for private church charities that where barely giving him any money to do his job. Imagine surviving on $200 a month? Well, unlike other Christians that would have given up or use guilt trips to get the church to give him more money, he was a REALIST.

"It is very easy to develop a mentality of someone else "owning" me, society "owes" me, my boss "woes" me, my rich uncle "owes" me, the Church "owes" me or the real classic, "The Government" owed me."

See? This is classic Randian thinking! Nobody owes us anything, we exchange value for value. Even if you're an Atheist and feel uncomfortable with the Christian quotes, the overall message of the book isn't "Jesus is going to give me money" or "God will fix my problems." Take the religion as philosophy, as examples of others who have struggled.

Moving on, one day a man told him about the $50 challenge. Basically, someone gives you $50 (or you raise the money yourself by selling some old junk) and your job is to double, triple or quadruple that money. When he lived in New Zealand, he went to an auction and bought $15 TV's and sold them for $50. He also bought some landscaping equipment that looked like crap, fixed it, and sold him for more. Then he notices the villagers where walking 1 kilometer or more to buy Cokes, so he borrowed a fridge from the church, stocked it up with soft drinks, and eventually he was selling them cokes with a 100% markup. The book shows his experiences from New Zealand, to Cambodia, back to New Zealand and then Australia. Is it success all the time? No, the first time he buys no longer valid Cambodian currency for the purposes of selling it on eBay he discovers he bought the wrong thing. The good news is he learns from his mistakes, buys a book about collectible currency, establishes relationships with local dealers, and pretty soon he's making great money selling not just currency but Vietnam war relics. The great thing about this book is that you don't have to do the same things he did. At one point he's buying real estate and fixing distressed properties? Do I want to do that? No, but now I understand that to make money you have to find something or somethings to buy for $50, $500, $20,000, etc, and then double your money. If you can do it with $50, you can do it with any amount. I remember that years ago I bought the domain name huntprivatelands.com for $10 and sold it at auction for $50. Why didn't I see then that I would have made $225 if instead of buying one domain name I had bought 5?

In conclusion, this book doesn't end with the guy becoming a millionaire and driving BMW, but it does end with the guy having three businesses, being his own boss, and always looking for different money sources. At times he does fall hard, like when the new pastor at the church tells him his wife can no longer sell an MLM weight loss product that is actually helping them lose weight. What book is that pastor reading? The book of Marx?

I'm very happy I read this, this is way better than motivational lies like "Think and Grow Rich". If you ever want to read a story about being self-reliant, this is the story to read.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Very Unique Finance Book! 14. Mai 2013
Von Chris G. - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
Being very interested in personal finances and anything written in this area I gave this one a shot and was pleasantly surprised.

This book was written in tribute to what the Australian's call "Battlers", which is a term for hard working lower income people that struggle making ends meet and not much else.

The author lays out this in a very different way through the use of biblical scripture, motivational messages and some of his personal experiences. The book has a central message that you are responsible for you actions and that you and only can make changes to your own life.

For someone that isn't very religious the biblical passages used for each section make sense and they do give out a good message that doesn't have to lead to religious side of it intended meaning.

This is a great book for anyone needing push in the right direction in your personal finances and you're life in general.
