Many may know Yahtzee Croshaw as the infamous "Zero Punctuation" who dissects and reviews video games with a large dose of very unique humour and wit (and an army of imps). True to form his first book is a tongue-in-cheek masterpiece that will have you glued to the pages, giggling continuously as the story unfolds.
It is a great book of fiction which revolves around the subject Yahtzee knows so well: video games. Everyone who has ever played a RPG will recognise themselves and their actions in one of the many adventurers that cross the path of the main character Jim and his entourage or recognise situations which they have experienced in their gaming life. Even though the story is heavy on the video game subject, specifically that of a massively multiplayer online role playing game (short: MMORPG) such as World of Warcraft and the like, it is entertaining and understandable even if the reader has never played a role playing game in their life. He pokes fun at so many fiction and hero stories, there is bound to be one in there the reader recognises.
To cut a long story short: this book is a very entertaining read with plenty of wit and absurdities which will thoroughly entertain you. If you liked The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, you will love this book as well.
