This book offers an indepth look at typography and its functions. The book is one of many typography books that I own and this one is one of the better ones in my opinion. Great for students interested in learning more about photography and great for working designers or writers who may need a refresher course in type.

for the typographer interested in more than just getting the job done, this is a must read. it is a readable and quite detailed survey of the history that has brought us to present-day typographic design.
