Mobile for Good updates and expands on the author's previous volume - Social Media for Social Good. Of particular importance is the books focus on transitioning existing tools to mobile platforms. A strong feature in both of Ms. Mansfield's books is viewing social media from an integrated perspective - different tools are meant to function differently. Part 1 of the Mobile for Good volume allows the reader to strategically consider their nonprofits goals and then determine how the various content and networks can achieve those goals. The remaining sections of the book build on this foundation.

Mansfield is quite straightforward in presenting that the understanding that you get what you pay for. That yes, there are lots of free tools out there, but you might want to consider for fee services for greater return. Ditto on contracting/hiring a social media professional vs. going it alone.

I also found it very useful like that if one starts on page 1 with limited knowledge by the time you got to the end of the book, you can have a reasonably solid plan for moving forward with an integrated approach to social media.

As a marketing author myself, every time I share ideas, invariably someone says, "And that would work really well for non-profits, too!" Well, Heather Mansfield has written the definitive 1-2 punch with "Social Media for Good" and "Mobile for Good" that shows non-profit leaders how to get a handle on social media - and all marketing, really - to expand their influence, impact, and income.

Everything is laid out, step by step and piece by piece. Unlike so many social media AND mobile marketing books, THIS book is great because nothing is assumed and nothing is left out.

A systematic approach to smarter marketing for mission-driven organizations. And shhhh... a lot of these ideas would be devastatingly effective in the for-profit world, too.

Great tool for creating a Mobile and Social Media Strategy 15. April 2014

Mobile For Good was great help for getting organisational buy-in for a social media strategy. I have no doubt that our soon-to-be implemented social media strategy will benefit my non-profit.

This book lays out some really insightful and interesting ideas to consider when implementing a social media strategy. It's an invaluable tool for a New Media Manager both in and outside of the non-profit sector. I appreciate that Mansfield is quite overt about the dire need for the role of social media in fundraising and cause-awareness campaigns. As a non-profit newbie, I got really excited about the prospects ahead of us taking more of a social approach to our online fundraising strategy.

Definitely worth the read!

As a small business owner I was able to market my business using traditional social media outlets with Mrs. Mansfields first book, Social Media for Social Good, with great success. Her latest release, Mobile for Good, allows me to expand the reach of my business to a younger, more tech savvy generation. Kudos to Mobile for Good, it's possibly more helpful than the first edition.
