Synopsis
Published to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd, this book explores the images of Pink Floyd album sleeves and the artwork they contain. Storm Thorgerson is a world-famous artist whose memoirs of his time spent with Pink Floyd are combined with all the artwork he created to represent the band at each stage of their career. 40 years on, Storm revisits the work he created for the albums and tells the stories behind them.
Über den Autor
Storm Thorgerson ist als Fotograf und Grafik-Designer Autodidakt. Geboren 1944 in Mutton Lane, Potters Bar bei London, machte er seinen Abschluss als BA Hons an der Leicester University. Dazu erwarb er einen MA in Film & TV am Royal College of Art. 1968 gründete er zusammen mit Po (Aubrey Powell) die Firma Hipgnosis. Als Autor hat er zahlreiche Bücher über Album-Cover veröffentlicht, außerdem ist er Regisseur von zahlreichen Rockvideos, Werbespots und Fernsehdokumentationen. Storm Thorgerson hat einen erwachsenen Sohn und lebt heute mit seiner Lebensgefährtin, zwei Kindern und fünf Katzen in West Hampstead, London.
