Das Buch ist auch ohne Lexikon leicht zu verstehen, sinnvoll aufgeteilt (Werkzeug, Material, Techniken, einzelne Projekte), sehr gut bebildert und regt zum Nachmachen an. Bei mehr als 30 Einzelprojekten ist für mich zwar nicht alles zu 100% "Steampunk", aber jedes Stück ist trotzdem wunderschön und man entwickelt sofort eigene Fantasien, wie man etwas nachahmen oder abwandeln könnte. Die Autorin regt ausdrücklich dazu an, mit offenen Augen auf die Jagd zu gehen nach "Müll", den man zu Schmuck verarbeiten könnte. Und genau das passiert - inzwischen sehe ich jede Unterlegscheibe aus einem ganz anderen Blickwinkel ;-)

Excellent Jewelry Technique Book Will Inspire ALL Artists

The projects in this book are amazing, even for a not so savvy jewelry maker. The book is beautifully done and so well photographed it could be a coffee table book. Each project just gets better and better until, at the end of the book, you are inspired to create some or ALL of the projects. The step-by-step instructions can be followed easily and most of the materials are inexpensive or free if you have a stash of art-making supplies. I especially love the steampunk projects!
I recommend this book to artists of all genres. Even if you do not make jewelry, you will find a ton of inspiration within the pages. I plan some mixed media projects from what I learned from Linda. Pick up this one today and be inspired to create.

While I am glad that the other reviewer found this book helpful, I did not. As a person who has been making jewelry for several years, I found that though these projects may look good, they are very poorly put together. The finished items would fall apart quickly due to being held together primarily with glue. One bracelet is made of copper foil, and if you so much as laid a shirt on it I would imagine that the bracelet would buckle. If the projects were reinterpreted to use cold connections, non craft store findings or hard soldering they might be usable. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Fabulous Instruction and Inspiration

I am very impressed with this book. It presents multiple techniques from wirework, to stamping, to using resin, to faux finishes on metal. I found the instructions easy to read and follow but I have been doing wirework and other forms of jewelry making for some time. While the instructions for stamping and using resin are not exhaustive I feel it was a good introduction that has sparked my interest in exploring these avenues more - hence the inspiration. I was looking for a book to help introduce me to other mediums and break me out of my comfort zone - This book was perfect for this. I have found myself picking this book up and rereading it frequently as I am taking my first steps into other areas/mediums of jewelry making. I truely feel that this book is a wonderful addition to anyones's jewelry making library.
