Pressestimmen

"Mergers, Acquisitions, and Other Restructuring Activities, 6th ed. delivers an essential understanding of the corporate restructuring processes by combining insights from many case studies with academic rigor. The book points out how M&A can create value as well as the ways it can lead to value destruction. In addition to the state of the art valuation techniques, it also explains the regulatory corporate governance framework for both the US and Europe. It's an excellent text, and I highly recommend it." - Luc Renneboog, Professor of Corporate Finance, CentER, Tilburg University "Great text book that in a simple and straightforward manner combines the latest insights from academia with contemporary industry practices. It fits perfect in a class of MBA students or executives. I will for sure use it next time I teach M&A." -Karin Thorburn, DnB Nor Professor of Finance, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration "DePamphilis has masterfully covered in one book all relevant managerial, strategic, financial, accounting, legal and tax aspects of M&A into an easily understood roadmap for any M&A transaction, large or small. With totally up-to-date material, he provides the crucial information that is necessary in today's rapidly changing M&A world." -Lloyd Levitin, Professor of Clinical Finance and Business Economics, University of Southern California "Mergers, Acquisitions, and Other Restructuring Activities is quite simply an outstanding text. Don DePamphilis delivers a comprehensive guide to the M&A process from start to finish. The reader is exposed to the latest thoughts on valuation methods as well as the myriad of alternative corporate asset restructuring decisions available to today's managers and how to best evaluate each. The book is punctuated with numerous up-to-date case examples as well as case study problems for analysis, giving the reader an immediate connection between the textual discussion and what we observe in practice. I have no doubt the book's content will appeal to a wide audience including students, instructors and practitioners. I particularly like the chapters on valuation methods and the fact that the text is accompanied by excellent Excel spreadsheet models for executing a complete analysis. In sum, Mergers, Acquisitions, and Other Restructuring Activities is a comprehensive, up-to-date, outstanding text." -Scott C. Linn, R.W. Moore Chair in Finance and Economic Development, the University of Oklahoma "After teaching M&A for ten years, I was relieved when last semester I finally switched to DePamphilis' text. His single book replaced numerous other sources that I had to use before. DePamphilis' academic rigor is combined with his deep personal experience as a deal maker, and thus the textbook is highly valuable to both newcomers and those being involved in transactions for many years." -Viktoria Dalko, Global Professor of Finance, Harvard University Extension School

Ich möchte mich kurz fassen.
Dieses Buch enthält alles was man über M&A wissen sollte inklusive vieler Case Studies.

Don't buy Kindle version... 17. Juli 2013

Don't buy Kindle version... There are no real page numbers available for this book, unlike in many other books. This is a school text book; it should be intuitive that students need page number!

Great M&A Textbook 5. August 2012
Von Kati - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe Verifizierter Kauf
I read this book for a M&A MBA course and found it to be very comprehensive and appreciated the fact that there was minimal jargon throughout the text. My professor teaching the course is a different story... Bottom line, I would recommend this text book.

THE BEST BOOK FOR MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS...THE LEADER BY FAR 26. Juli 2012
Von GNG - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe
I found this book to be the most current, comprehensive, and readable book on mergers and acquisitions available. The book does a highly effective job in blending theory and practice, minimizing the use of jargon while providing the reader with an easy to understand road map explaining why mergers and acquisitions happen and how deals are done. The book extends far beyond M&A by discussing alternative ways to implement business strategies such as through joint ventures, strategic alliances, and minority investments. Dr. DePamphilis also deals with a range of restructuring strategies commonly used to increase firm value ranging from spin-offs to carve outs to business reorganization in bankruptcy and liquidation.
The book is well suited for students, instructors, and professionals alike, reflecting the latest in academic research and numerous notable and interesting recent transactions. The subject matter contains an in-depth discussion of a structured process for conducting M&As including identification of potential targets, valuation, negotiation, due diligence, closing and integration.
Students should like the book because of the numerous easy to understand exhibits, examples, diagrams, and targeted case studies to illustrate an extensive array of M&A and other restructuring strategies. The book also provides students online access to M&A and LBO valuation and deal structuring models, chapter summaries and PowerPoint slides, and other related materials to enhance their learning experience.
The book's seventeen chapters provide instructors with more than enough material for a semester course. Each chapter contains extensive discussion questions and where applicable problems with solutions. Instructors should also like the online access to a test bank containing more than 1500 questions, problems and solutions and other ancillary materials such as PowerPoint slides for each chapter and interactive models underlying many chapter exhibits. The generous use of examples and contemporary business cases makes the text suitable for distance learning and self-study programs, as well as large, lecture-focused courses.
Professionals should appreciate the up-to-date and "jargon-lite" content allowing them to remain abreast of the latest research. The extensive reference listing of literally hundreds of articles and books enables the reader to delve deeper into specific topics. Because of the comprehensive nature of the book, it also should serve as a practical reference text.
As you can see, I highly recommend this book.

Excellent Book: Comprehensive and Accurate 8. September 2012
Von M&A Buff - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe
I have used this book in my classes and in my practice. The book has been well received by my students. This book is most useful for those interested in a detailed, rigorous analysis about the subject. This is not a book for someone who has only a casual interest in the subject. The book requires a basic understanding of finance, economics, and accounting. For those with this basic skill level, this book is dynamite.
