Mauerpark tells the story of the famous park in Berlin, known for it's flea market and alternative culture. The film focuses in a few characters, which through them the story is being told. For me, it's mostly the story of Berlin since the reunification. The city became an attractive place for artist and creative people, rehabilitating itself from the dark past. As it happens elsewhere, when a place become extremely popular, and more money is flowing, the change is unavoidable. This time, the change is threatening mauerpark, with entrepreneurs planning to build there. This represents the vast change that the city went through from a cheap hip place, to these days where the things made it so tolerate and popular are under a threat. The characters were carefully chosen to represent the main idea. A very enjoyable film for anyone whose interested in Berlin!
