Kurzbeschreibung

HAVE YOU EVER noticed how a group of people can perceive a non-interpretive event completely differently? I’m not just talking about Mom and Dad having a differing opinion of which kid actually did more chores, or what little Susie was really wearing when she left for school two days ago. I’m talking about a very clear encounter, one that’s intense, and one that two or more people simply can’t remember factually the same later on.
There’s a famous experiment circulating around the web right now. In this experiment people are shown a series of car accidents and are later asked what they could remember. There was a surprising correlation between the answers given and how the questions were phrased. Some individuals remembered broken glass, for example, although there was none in the videos shown.
So what does this have to do with psychology and negotiations? Well, have you ever wondered why some negotiations fail? And have you ever considered that your body language and subliminal messaging play an important role in the deal’s progress, even if those messages were unintended or misinterpreted? I’m here to tell you that perception is reality, for you and everyone else you come in contact with. The experiment mentioned above was so ground breaking that it proved you only have to introduce one negative “vibe” into a negotiation to turn the tides against you. When something like this happens, it can be nearly impossible to recover from.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Read this book before a job interview... 22. August 2014
Von Ranger - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
The most important lesson that I learned from this book on mastering negotiations through the right use of body language and non-verbal signals is that, the first impression is in most of the cases, the final impression. Whether you get hired or not in a job interview depends on the impression made by you in the first two or three minutes. Whether your public speech is received well or not by your audience depends on the first few seconds.

This is because, just as important our verbal communication is, equally important are the non-verbal signals or subliminal messages sent by us. With that point made in the introductory chapter itself, the writers, Greg Williams and Kristin Williams-Washington, jump headlong into a fascinating study of the psychology of negotiations, what works and what doesn't.

There were just so many interesting new things that I learned from this book – the importance of colors, what sort of words and phrases to inject your speeches with, how to “play to your audience”, how to be likeable, what sort of clothes to wear, how to use your appearance to your advantage and so much more!

As a guy who is always scared of job interviews, presentations and public speaking, I found the book most educational. 5 stars!
5.0 von 5 Sternen Everyone negotiates, even if they don't realize it 22. August 2014

There's much power to be had in being an effective negotiator. Through his book Mastering Negotiations Through Body Language and Other NonVerbal Signals, Williams has taught me that, if done correctly, you can actually influence others' thoughts and perceptions of what is happening around them through some small changes in the way you present yourself nonverbally. But you're going to need to know the nonverbal techniques to get you there. Luckily, Williams teaches you how.

As you can positively influence others' perceptions, you can also negatively influence them. You may not even realize the ways you shut yourself down in your negotiations. Williams talks about many nonverbal ways to influence conversations to your advantage including the use of color, tailoring to your subject, picking the right clothes and appearance, choosing where to have the meeting, and more.

Everyone negotiates, even if you're not a businessperson. You negotiate in love relationships, with your children, your teachers, and even store clerks and people in passing interactions. Arm yourself with one of the most powerful skills around.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Book will empower you to be your best! 25. August 2014
Von SClark - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

The information presented in this book Mastering Negotiations Through Body Language and other nonverbal signals is wonderful, and immediately useful in life. I can now take better control of my conversations! Greg provided numerous helpful examples which make negotiation and body language points more easy to understand. Its contents reminds the reader to focus on body language and how to communicate with others- it sounds artificial, but I can’t stress how this book will empower you to get to know yourself, and be your best.
I would recommend this book to professionals of all ages and stages in their career.
5.0 von 5 Sternen What would it be like if you knew what people you were talking to ... 21. August 2014
Von Michael Altshuler - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
What would it be like if you knew what people you were talking to were really thinking? If you had the ability to know if they were telling the truth or lying or really liked you or were just faking it --that would be pretty powerful stuff, right? Well, this book gives you that power. The power to be on the inside looking out instead of the outside looking in--and I'm talking the inside of their mind by mastering their body language. If you want to master negotiations, go to the master, Greg Williams and read his book.
