And the non-modular-folders out there might just find that this is the book that hooks them on this origami specialty!" -Origami USA magazin, January 2008 "... its deep value lies in its enhancement of rich mathematical concepts and its connections between mathematics and science. It is highly recommended." -Mathematics Teacher, May 2008 "Published by A K Peters Ltd., Marvelous Modular Origami offers step-by-step instructions for more than 30 different modular origami structures. By the end of the year, the book was a bestseller." -The Mercury News , May 2008 "Meenakshi Mukerji takes the ancient Japanese art form of origami --or paper folding-- far beyond the making of simple paper cranes." -Cupertino COURIER, May 2008 "The book is intended for intermediate but beginners are also encouraged to try." -European Mathematical Society, March 2008 so many ways, origami is the perfect activity for young children. Kurzbeschreibung

"The models are paper folding in its purest form. They range from simple Sonobe to Floral and Geometrical constructions. All are eye-catching, satisfying to fold, and the finished constructions are pleasing to behold. Also included are short sections on the mathematics behind the shapes and optimum colour choices. A K Peters should be congratulated on picking a paper folding winner." - David Petty, author of "Origami A-B-C". This richly illustrated book provides step-by-step instructions for the construction of over 30 different modular origami structures. The author describes basic folding techniques required to construct the "modules" that are used as building blocks to construct complex ornamental units. The diagrams are clear, crisp, and easy to follow, and are accompanied by inspiring color photographs. Additional tips encourage the reader to design their own original creations.

Mad for modulars! 8. Juni 2007
Von Kathryn S. March - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
Meenakshi's web-site has been a hot spot for those of us who are hooked on making these intracate decorative balls for years and her new book does not disappoint! Very clear diagrams, helpful directions, multiple ways of forming the units to make different flowers appear, and the vast majority are not recycled from other books. For the bored begginer in origami on up!

Warning! This is an addictive hobby. Fortunately tiny sheets of square paper are inexpensive.......

Marvelous Modular Models! 3. März 2010
Von Joy Dutta - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
I got this book after browsing through the author's well-known website for modular origami. It's a very nice book explaining how to make great looking modular balls. The diagrams are very clear and well described with pictures showing how the modular unit should look like in each step. Being just over an year old in the origami world, I got stumped a couple of times but seeing the diagram of the next step helped me figure out the fold. All I needed was a little bit of practice and a bit more patience. For beginners like me, it's a good practice to make one unit using a printer paper and understand all the steps. Also, I recommend reading the 'Homogeneous Color Tiling' section of the book if one is using multiple colors for making a model.

I believe even a beginner, after getting a bit familiar with the basic origami diagrams, can fold the models in the book as there are no complex folds involved. I highly recommend this book. And if you are into polyhedra and floral models, it is a must.
