Kurzbeschreibung

The path to success is littered with great ideas poorly marketed. Don't let yours be one of them.

"A little book with a very big message. Your idea is worth a great story, well told."
SETH GODIN— Author of All Marketers Tell Stories

Make Your Idea Matter is a call to action for entrepreneurs, startups, emerging brands and anyone with a great idea, who knows that to stand out in today's noisy world they need to tell a better story.

It is full of bite-sized business and brand storytelling ideas originally sparked on Bernadette Jiwa's award-winning business blog TheStoryofTelling.com.

Use this book as both inspiration and guide to help you tell the best stories you can tell about your business, your ideas and the work that matters to you.

You don't have to start on page one and work your way through, or even read it from front to back. Each topic stands on its own so dip in and out. Reawaken a thought or an idea you've already had. Spark new ones. Discover different ways of thinking about your business, what you do and how you tell your story. Then go make your idea matter.

ADVANCE PRAISE FOR MAKE YOUR IDEA MATTER

"Every story you tell is a choice, and the choices you make matter. For best results make the choice to read this book."
CHRIS GUILLEBEAU— Author of The $100 Startup

"Make Your Idea Matter' is a book that's easy to get into and hard to escape. Full of valuable, original, engaging content.
Bernadette Jiwa has been likened to 'a female Seth Godin' and I have to agree."
ROBERT GERRISH— Director of Flying Solo,
Australia's Micro Business Community

"The most brilliant people I have known have the rare ability to distill complexity to an essence. This is what Bernadette Jiwa does for entrepreneurs in Make Your Idea Matter."
MARK SCHAEFER— Author of Return on Influence & The Tao of Twitter

"If I discover one useful insight in a business book, I consider the time well spent. This surprising little book delivers them in spades!"
TOM ASACKER — Author of A Clear Eye for Branding

"Now is your time to make a difference, your time to be the best at what you love doing, your time to use your skills to enrich not only your own life, but the lives of each and every individual you do business with.
More and more small businesses are taking impressive leads in their industries, making giant multinationals look cumbersome and unfriendly in comparison. You can do the same, and the first thing on your "to do" list should be to read this book.
Bernadette has written a fantastic collection of stories to inspire, to provoke, to make you think, to generate ideas, and to bring your business to the next level.
It doesn't matter if your idea has been done before, because as Bernadette rightly points out, it hasn't been done by you."
DAVID AIREY — Author of Logo Design Love

Make Your Idea Matter freuen.

This book is very different than I thought it would be. I thought it would be more about ways to present your ideas in to your audience in a compelling way. It ended up being a primer on branding and strategy. A really good read for a junior level marketer.

Make Your Idea Matter by Bernadette Jiwa is the type of book you start from page one and just can't stop reading.

From the onset, this hand guide is full of poignant, powerful, applicable advice with actionable edge and a naturally motivating tone, Jiwa offers dozens and dozens of sharp insights for the modern entrepreneur, digital solopreneur, blogger, or anyone who is interesting in making an idea matter: for starting a business, developing a brand, or simply leaving behind a positive and memorable legacy.

Every page is valuable, and, honestly, the price for which you'd ultimately pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for in one-on-one consulting or coaching sessions. Every insight is directly applicable to the task at hand: what makes an idea matter? Why does making our ideas matter... actually matter to *me* in today's changing world? Where do I start when developing a brand or marketing an idea?

Bernadette's style is no-fluff, invitational and very effective. If you're familiar with Seth Godin or Steven Pressfield's sharp styles and directly-to-the-point insights, you'll love this book and immediately begin to know how to make YOUR idea matter!

5.0 von 5 Sternen So inspiring! A must read for micropreneurs! 30. September 2012
Von Julie Hedlund - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

Reading Make Your Idea Matter was like taking a huge gulp of air after being nearly drowned by the constant messages that come into my inbox promising that if only I "build my list, use this technique to get followers, buy this product to amplify my message," I can earn six figures next month.

The reason these promises seem hollow is because they are. I'm sure people can make millions by pushing this kind of information out to people like me and charging them for it. My problem is that I want the work I do to matter to people. To make a difference in the world. To actually help people or improve their lives. I don't want to build my list for the sake of building it or for the sake of selling something to people later. I want to start a conversation. If people buy something from me, I want it to be because they believe in the product or service I am offering.

None of this is to say that money doesn't matter - it does. But the REASON why you are doing what you are doing to earn money matters more. Bernadette Jiwa's phenomenally inspiring book teaches us that and more. The book shows us how to follow our hearts first, tell our stories second, and sell third - but only by funneling our sales through our hearts and our stories.

The book is written in small, very digestible chapters. It's easy to read. I highlighted what seemed like a gazillion passages.

Get this book if you want to run a business that not only matters to you, but to the people you serve!

2.0 von 5 Sternen Make your Ideas matter by charging for the ideas that you already presented in your blog. 13. Januar 2013
Von John Melius - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

This information was presented by Amazon as if it was a book. However, unlike a well-written book, it really didn't have a central theme or focus. It was assembled from a blog written by the author, and there was no attempt to unify the material into a cohesive set of ideas. Very disappointed.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A Must Read for entrepreneurs and idea makers 20. September 2012

It is with much joy that I see Bernadette, someone who's writing I have followed for the past year, publish her first book. From the minute I read her first article, I've always thought of her and referred to her as a 'Female version of Seth Godin'. There's a way that Bernadette writes that exudes deep wisdom conveyed with the utmost simplicity. I think it's very easy to get complicated as an author with many chapters and much technical information to support theories and ideas. But in the realm of idea creation and implementation, which this book resides in, simplicity is powerful. Simplicity is actually much more difficult to achieve. Bernadette achieves it with a fabulous page turning mini-bible that no entrepreneur should miss spending a thought provoking and inspiring evening with. Well done Bernadette. Fantastic stuff and the start of much more.
