I have to say that I am spoiled to the day. So many of the recipes in here are much better than what you'd get at 99% of any typical Chinese restaurant. I now live in one of the largest cities in the U.S. and it's still hard for me to find food as good as this.
The author seems to have considered her readers, especially the fact that they may never have cooked such authentic recipes, and who may not be expert cooks. I love how the book is laid out. It doesn't even bother me that there aren't color photos of anything. While some of the ingredients may be hard to find, or have other names we may now know as something else, with a little research online, asking around, and perusing Asian stores and supermarket aisles, I think that most, if not all of these recipes could reasonably be made by just about anyone. This is one book that I will never give up. This book is a must-have for any fellow Chinese food fan. I would highly recommend that anyone also order this book from Amazon!
