A terrible book! The only reason I gave it one star is that you don't allow me to give no stars. If I didn't have to read it, I would have thrown it out long ago. Great research wasted. Repeated use of obscure jargon, never explained. At the end of every chapter, I realize I have absolutely no idea what actually happened. It might be a useful book if I was already an expert on Melanie Klein's life and theories. As I am not, I have no idea what happened to her, what she did, or what her ideas were after reading almost 300 pages of this book. Astonishing. Terrible editing. On page 286, there is a whole paragraph from a letter Mrs. Klein wrote. On page 287, the same paragraph is repeated in a page long quotation from the same document. Is it possible I am the first person to ever actually read that far into the book? Shocking, rampant incompetence. Very sad.
