I bought the whole series "Love means..... " for my Kindle and I was captivated with it.
Andrew's writing style is amazing, I could really see the characters through my inner eye. The stories are very thoughtful and conclusive. One story leads into the other and at the end you get a wonderful series. Thank you Andrew for another wonderful, lovely series.

best of the series 24. Mai 2014

Gives a look at what the survivors of war face with their unseen scars . These people face as great or greater challenge than the physically wounded because no sees their wounds . The story relates to what they face with flashbacks and panic attacks. The story gave a real look at that side of the cost of war .

Heartwarming, satisfying, excellent book 25. Mai 2014
Von Becky C - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Reading an Andrew Grey story is always heartwarming, educational, and a true pleasure. Love Means… Patience is the story of two men who are trying to overcome PTSD and rejoin their formerly happy lives. Cody is a Marine hero who was dishonorably discharged when he and his gay lover were outed. To make matters worse, his Marine lover was killed in action. When he was booted out of the family he loved, his Marine Corps, he had no support system to help him with the effects of PTSD and he spent several years wandering, thinking he was on missions of war.
Also dishonorably discharged under DADT, Marine veteran Brick has worked his own way through PTSD and the resulting alcoholism to living a quiet life on his farm in Michigan. When Cody breaks into Brick’s neighbor’s home to steal food because he is starving, he is caught by the most loving people anyone could hope to find in their lives: Eli and Geoff. They turn to Brick to find a place where Cody can try to put his life back together.
Much of the book is repetitive, but that is where the “patience” in the title comes from. Recovering from PTSD is not a quick fix. It can take years to learn to cope with the flashbacks and fear. Brick works to keep Cody grounded in the present and in doing so continues his own work to overcome PTSD. Gradually the two men find hope together.
During his time of wandering on his “missions” in Michigan Cody may have witnessed a murder. The true horror of this for Cody is trying to sort reality from his PTSD induced fantasy. It takes a community to discover the truth and protect Cody from terrors that have nothing to do with his service or the aftereffects of PTSD.
I learned a great deal in reading this book about the trauma of PTSD, the effects of DADT on heroic men, and even how a farm operates in the frigid winters of Michigan. Andrew Grey always does his research and prepares a story that is spell-binding as well as affirming. This is why he is an auto-buy for me and will continue to be so until he decides to stop writing. He will publish his 100th book in 2015 so luckily for all of his fans, he isn’t even slowing down in his writing. I can hardly wait to see what comes next from his imagination and story-telling skills.

A brilliant and heart wrenching novel 24. Mai 2014
Von Jodi Pushkin - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Andrew Grey is a masterful storyteller, and Love means … Patience is a brilliant and heart wrenching novel. Cody Culver and Brink Hunter are strong, intense characters who share a traumatic past. Culver lives in his own world as a result of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and it takes patience, love and acceptance to bring him out of his own tortured mind.

Grey pulls readers into this story within the first paragraph. His narration is intense and stunningly descriptive. At the beginning of the book, Cody is a tormented man who is battling a war within his own mind.

Grey constructs a masterful story with Love means … Patience. Like the other books in the farm series, the characters are genuine and realistic. As isolated as the farm is, real-life once again makes its ugly intrusion into the peacefulness that Eli and Geoff have created. The awesome and angst-filled plot is only enhanced with Grey’s wonderful character development that permeates this story. Although this is clearly a work of fiction, the realism in the story is tangible, and the social implications are staggering in their realism.

This is a partial review. Please see my full review on the Smoocher's Voice blog.

Fabulous, fantastic, wonderful! 25. Mai 2014

This is a fantastic book! And no, I'm not surprised. Andrew Grey writes consistently good books. But I really love this series, and this is a great addition.

So I have a Marine in my family, and I have had issues with the accuracy of stories that feature a Marine in them in the past. I am happy to say I had no issues with this story! My annoying little pet peeves were not there at all! Thank you Andrew!

I loved Brick and Cody, they are a fantastic match for one another. Eli and Geoff knew what they were doing when they convinced Brick to take on Cody. Brick was a lonely man that needed someone to care for, and he got that with Cody. And Prince! Cody was just damaged enough to make him an interesting character, but not so damaged to feel broken to the point of no redemption. He goes through a nice transition, as does Brick. And they both need each other so badly.

This book has a great plot, great characters, a nice peek at the farm and it's residence, and a great ending. A bit more sex would have been nice, what there was, was very sweet, but I like a little more nookie in my books! A minor issue though... I loved the book!
