In diesem sehr persönlichen Einrichtungsbuch gibt die Textildesignerin Lotta Jansdotter Einblick in die 3-Zimmer-Wohnung die sie in Brooklyn mit ihrem Mann, ihrem kleinen Sohn und ihrer Katze teilt. Weiterhin zeigt sie ihr Atelier, welches gleichzeitig als Laden dient. Sie erklärt, wie sie das Beste aus dem begrenzten Raum macht, ohne zuviel Geld auszugeben. Viele Einrichtungsgegenstände sind von Ikea, Flöhmärkten oder selbst gemacht. Neben Anregungen und Anleitungen teilt Lotta ihren Lebenstil und ihre Lieblingsgerichte mit dem Leser. Dem Buch sind am Ende heraustrennbare Rezeptkarten beigefügt. Ein schön fotografiertes Buch für alle, die sich für skandinavischen und minimalistischen Stil interessieren.

Das Buch ist ganz nett für diejenigen, die Lotta Jansdotter verehren. Für alle anderen ist es ein mittelmäßiges Buch (vom Inhalt her). Einige Nähideen zB habe ich schon in einem anderen Lotta-Buch gesehen. Immerhin sieht man, dass Lotta ihre Kreationen auch selbst verwendet. Das Buch ist außerdem sehr schön gestaltet und verarbeitet.

I would say that this book is more for the "fan" of Lotta Jansdotter than a "How To" on style. Even with saying this, the book is full of ideas and inspirations.

My New Favorite Book!

Since first discovering Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing, I have adored everything Lotta! I pored over the pictures in her previous books less to learn how to make items and more to glean home decorating and living ideas. What I really wanted was the chance to hear in Lotta's own words how she blends old and new pieces in a way that seems effortlessly comfortable, fresh, and modern. Lotta's new book, Handmade Living: A Fresh Take on Scandanavian Style, is just such a peek into her home and life! Every page, picture, story is a glimpse into her style, and as I finished reading, I felt I had visited the apartment of a friend who is kind enough to share her creative ideas--as well as a cinnamon bun (recipe included). Most of all this book has become my new "favorite book" because it is so authentically real. This book inspires me to embrace the home in which I live, adding my own touches to make it uniquely my own. Thank you, Lotta!

I expected a book full of projects and instructions ,so i was very disappointed when it arrived.There are only 2 basic projects with instructions .On the other hand it has nice ideas for entertaining and contains 12 recipes .
