This book is a basic introduction to lost-wax casting with emphasis on jewelry making. It is designed to be used both as a textbook and a reference book and is directed primarily at beginners. I have nearly every text and video on lost-wax casting and I find myself thumbing through this one more than another treasure, "Practical Casting" by Tim McCreight. Fred Sias' book is well written and very informative.

Not a technical book

This book comes at casting more from an historical view rather than a technical view. The only thing new about this one was the Ashanti method of casting. There are better books on casting out there. Try Tim McCreight's for beginners.
