I always supposed that backpackers or young low budget travellers are the target group of LP, but if that^s true, I don^t understand why the book features like this. It is not only that hotels and eateries described tend rather to mid- or top range prices, while on location you can find much more offers in a low budget price class. That point is something that could be improved but anyway travellers can help themselves easily. I mostly disagree that LP^s attitude to answer the always predominant traveller^s question "How do I get there?" seems to be always "Best with your own rented car and driver!". In other LP Guidebooks not only departure places, prices and destinations of local transport are well described - sometimes even departure times are indicated. In the Bali Lombok edition, they do not even mention that there are private-run shuttle buses between the main touristic places of Bali. Okay, if you are there you^ll know this also quickly, but I would have had the possibility to prepare my vacation much better knowing this in advance. And as the LP is also not the best guidebook to explain - say historical, cultural, social issues at depth, sorry, that^s only two stars to me.
