Über den Autor
Born in London in 1908, Ian Fleming worked as a banker and journalist before serving in the British Naval Intelligence during World War II. He published his first novel Casino Royale in 1953 and thus started the astoundingly successful James Bond novels and films. Fleming died in 1964.

The first thing about Live and Let Die is the very attractive start with terrific descriptions and well written lines. It drew me in just great.The writing is smooth or even poetic and comes with a wittiness and effective dialogue that is not common around.The plot reminds me of Flash of the Sun. Not only it is gripping, it comes with many twists and turns and is effective in retaining the reader's interest all the way to the end.

Wirtten by the greatest thriller author of the world, "Live And Let Die" goes many steps further then the first novel "Casino Royale". Hunting the black and Russian agent Mr. Big, who is also called The Big Man, James Bond starts his second adventure in America. From there his trip goes on to the Caribbean and the last station is Jamaica there the final battle is going to take place. On 007's side stands the mystic and beautiful Solitaire who is able to see things what other people can't. Bond gets also help by his old friend Felix Leiter. And Bond will be happy to get these help, because the end of the battle against The Big Man is not foreseeable...
The second Bond adventure is thrilling the readers like the film is thrilling the viewers. Both of them have got the right atmosphere of a real thriller. It's good to see the film and it's better to read the book. Marvellous!

Spannendes Buch mit einigen parallelen zu dem Film mit Roger Moore. Einige Ideen finden sich auch in anderen Filmen wieder. Auch ohne die "Unterstützung" der Filme wären Flemings Bücher auch heute noch so populär wie sie es sind.
