I purchased this book some time ago. I am a programmer that programs is many languages so I must have some 200 programming books to my name. This book is one of few books I own that I would consider a waste of money. And I consider any knowledge worth its weight in gold. The author of this book seems to have wasted my time.
For example, I understand what object oriented programming (OOP) is, but one day I decided to read his section on OOP, (every author has their own method) the chapter consists of pages upon pages of a story about him going to the store and buying groceries, their was some type of relationship here to OOP, but he went on so long I did not understand what he was talking about. I felt like I was reading a novel about a little boy going to the store, I actually got lost in the story.
I am being somewhat brutal here, but this book deserves it! About 20% of this book is actually related to the topic at hand.
BTW: The best explanation I have ever read about OOP was "An object is a thingy, it's that simple..."
