This book is a very generic look at the M9. It is basically little more than the manual, with no special insights on how to use the camera for best advantage.
In my opinion, Brian Bower's books on the M8/M9 are much more valuable, and also have a greater selection of better pictures that show what you can achieve with the camera.

I wanted to like this book and appreciate what the author was trying to accomplish. Unfortunately, I feel that the author missed the mark. This book is a generic overview of camera functions, lightroom software, and digital imaging thrown in. I do not believe that most Leica M9 users need this general overview - it is contained in the manual and from general digital imaging experience. The missed opportunity here is that the author could have delved into the details of the M9 and their practical impact in image-making decisions day-in and day-out; that is what I hoped the book would be.
Net/net - if you are a beginning digital photographer who has purchased an M9, this book could be of value to you. Otherwise, best to look elsewhere for more in-depth knowledge and advice.

Very basic information regarding the M9 camera. Nothing additional than the manual. Some misinformation that could have been avoided by doing some research. Not bad if you want a $16 grey card that is included at the back of the book.
