A creative way to get thinking about environmental change

This book combines lots of environmental theory with a lively and fast-paced love story, offering a glimpse into our future. It's a creative way to engage people in rethinking what our world could look like.

A love story and an environmental education

I enjoyed the way this book takes the myriad of environmental issues that we read about in the newspaper and puts them in perspective (from global warming to local wetlands). And, it makes it more personal and interesting by weaving it into the lifelong love story of a heroine who grapples with these issues and what she can do about them.
The book talks about solutions ranging from growing edible plants in backyard gardens to international agreements on limiting greenhouse gases. The author has compiled very useful endnotes providing additional information.
I learned a lot reading this book, and enjoyed a nice story in the process. You can't beat that!
