Philip Chu offers a very natural approach to the unity 4 game development environment. He explains step by step how the game could be polished more and finally he explains how to publish a game in the Appstore. I got much closer to programming in general, learned about concepts too.

Apparently, some reviewers missed a few important chapters in this book. Although I had a little bit of experience developing games in Unity, I have never developed specifically for iOS before, and I found this book to be extremely helpful.

First, the author goes through some basics with clear explanations on the Unity interface, so that I know more about what tools I have at my disposal. This filled-in a lot of holes in my Unity education.

Then, I actually made a game. It was simple, yet fun, and for the most part, the book points you to free assets. Personally, I didn't spend a dime on assets.

After I had a working game, score system, and GUI, I prepped and tweaked the game for iOS and literally set the game up for executing properly on an iPhone. This includes understanding and working around some limitations in iPhone gaming. The book even guided me through the Xcode porting process.

Once play-testing was done, and I was confident that it worked on the iPhone, the book guided me through dealing with Apple's store processing and regulations.

Throughout the book, I was given helpful developer tips from a guy that has been working in the industry for decades. I was pleasantly surprised to learn many things about game development strategy and theory. Some of them were fundamental, and some were really unique.

You don't end up with a wonderfully original game, but the author isn't there to hand you creativity on a platter. The author's goal is to improve your confidence in your ability to bring your own creativity to life using Unity, then port it for iOS distribution and execution. Those who already know how to use Unity well and make a working game could skip to the sections of the book that focus on iOS development and porting.

Bottom Line: This book is best suited for beginner/intermediate Unity users who want to make sure their games work on iOS devices and can be distributed that way. Understanding programming is helpful, but not necessary.

The book is well organized that it's easy to progress among the chapters without much difficulties. The content in each chapter is just right that you can learn the most essential skill without much difficulty while it doesn't loss the coverage of all kinds of most useful skills you needed.
The book is recommended and I love this book.
