4.0 von 5 Sternen The Ultimate Manifesto for Leaders! 28. März 2014
Von Jiuz Pliskin - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
When I started my career, I was at the rank and file for 4 years, 4 long years until I assumed a managerial position. I actually dropped my jaw in awe as I read this book when it convicted me about certain things I did that shouldn't be done! I like the author's conversational tone and how he urges readers to pursue discipline and commitment in being a leader so that you can be very well established in the business world.

The author provides clear insights on how he has witnessed little occurrences of people displaying leadership virtues. I like how he outlines the content in very easy-to-follow steps and I believe that this book will be very easy to retain and I will turn to it again and again. The 21-Day action plan is very, very workable - in fact, I'll try to find my own ways of tweaking it and applying it to my company.

The author poses a great balance between yielding to your team members and also asserting when it is necessary. I believe that this is truly empowering leadership because he encourages the reader to empower members of one's staff. I wished he told us more about his childhood since he was very candid about his experiences as a traveler and owner of a wine shop. Yet none of that takes away from the top caliber quality of this manual. I recommend this to managers and to everyone in the corporate world looking to carve a niche as mentor-leaders.
5.0 von 5 Sternen Art of being a Leader 3. April 2014
Von Trinity Kirchner - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
These days, different organizations thrive because of the way they operate as a cohesive whole. Conversely, a lot of companies may miss out on their quotas because something is inherently wrong with the system. There has never been a more timely occasion for a book such as this one to come out.

The tone of the book is very conversational. I believe this is largely due to the fact that he is a very personable individual and business person or he wants to model what he is teaching - the art of communicating clearly and being able to empower others by your leadership virtues. Among the book's most salient features is a 21 Day Action Plan to forging the ultimate team and equipping your staff with self-reliance and even leadership values so they can function to their highest potential.

It contains a very lean piece of text and I can easily understand the author's points. He even outlines the certain stages he identifies in team formation and how to navigate those stages via the 21 Day Action Plan. The author provides concrete examples in his experience and hypothetical situations that can help the reader better understand the points he wants to carry across.

It has a very straight-to-the-point and concise approach to conveying its ideas on teamwork, cultivating the right mindset and habits and it does so while providing very profound nuggets of information. I have already read through it once and I can honestly say I have absorbed all of the ideas here!

Also the author is very mindful when it comes to spotting little sparks of "inner leadership" in others and he is very good and gauging the personalities of the people he encounters such as when he recounts an incident in one of his travels where a fellow tourist initiates a solution to a certain problem. Ideas are very, very easy to lay out, but cannot be absorbed without the art of using real life examples and this book has plenty of them.

Did you know that I have never known the real stories behind McDonald's or Lego until I have read this book? The stuff here is RICH and I have never been more pleased. The examples just go to show that none of the author's ideas are hypothetical and they can and have been applied in the REAL WORLD.

As a final note, I like how encouraging the author really is in his tone and how candid he is about his preferences and how he balances out ideas so that you can be very well equipped for dealing with different individuals in the workplace. Never have I also found an author who advocates discipline so that you can reach a level of excellence where you can have the LUXURY to do the things you love!

I recommend this book to leaders, managers, or even regular employees who are looking towards cultivating their skills as a mentor, motivator and leader. By the same token, this can work well with teachers yet it is also perfectly suitable for executives who are involved in high stakes ventures.
5.0 von 5 Sternen Leaders as Servants 31. März 2014
Von Dearin Drabant - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

I cannot express how ecstatic I am at having come across this book! This is a great primer for people who want to assume managerial positions, or for those who already have managerial and supervisory roles yet want to be more nourishing personalities in their workplace. The most salient teaching of this book is how he tells us that leaders should be servants and think of others first. This is a very universal rather than a closed-off, rigid mindset towards nudging others to greatness.

This book is both practical and easy to understand. I like how he uses very concrete examples like the stories of Lego or McDonald's (I've never heard of these stories before!) and he aligns it with his core message. I wished the author provided more recollections of his travels (He does this from time to time in the book!) because I think he is a very talented writer who knows how to integrate exposition and narrative. My goal is to be a top trainer in my organization and I believe the 21-Day Action Plan will work very well for me.

The tone of the book is very loose and candid, yet the author uses language that is very clear and precise. I cannot be grateful enough for having come across this book and I definitely recommend it to everyone aspiring to be a servant-leader. The author uses very holistic paradigms for shaping your mindset and I believe that anyone who truly delves into the book can make their new "leaderly" qualities stick for a lifetime.
4.0 von 5 Sternen Leading Others Towards Organizational Growth 25. März 2014
Von Meagan Han - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
There are times when I wonder why I didn't think of applying any of the philosophies in this book? As I read it, I kept thinking to myself, "I knew I should have done that!". I now manage a coffee shop in my home town and though mine is hardly a Fortune 500 company, I believe there are certain nuggets I have picked up that can help me motivate my employees.

This cultivates the inner and the outer person. First, you need to be established in the mindset of being a mentor-leader and then you have to apply those virtues to the team members you are leading. The highest tier this book was written for is the executive level, so you can imagine how useful his insights are whether you are a front-liner, or someone who just needs to juggle tasks on a daily basis. Tomorrow, when I visit my coffee shop I'll see if there's anything in the 21-Day Action Plan that I can implement. This book is a call to action and I intend to act now!

The author also encourages in empowering your team members so that they themselves feel like readers. I wish he didn't digress very often and talk about his travels, but that's just me. The author seems to be able to integrate his personal insights with the practical philosophies and paradigms he wants to come across. The book is VERY well outlined and easy to read! It's a no-BS guide and I recommend it to anyone wanting to become a leader.
